Poser 4 is a premiere 3-D character animation and design tool for artists and animators. Create images, movies, and posed 3-D figures from a diverse collection of fully articulated 3-D human and animal models. Poser's unique interface makes posing and animating fast and easy. Pro Pack adds powerful functionality to Poser 4. LightWave 7.0b and 3D Studio Max 4.2 can host Poser scenes, and you can create custom PoserPython scripts for even greater control of Poser. Pro Pack also exports 2D Flash and 3D Viewpoint animations. Poser's Sketch Designer is a rendering engine that creates a scene using a series of brush strokes that define the background, edges of scene elements, and individual elements and figures. The result is a "hand-drawn" image that defies the traditional 3-D rendering look. You can save and load customized brush strokes for the Sketch Designer from scene to scene and can render in color or in black and white. You can also incorporate transparency and reflectivity into whole figures, individual body parts, or props. Poser 4 also lets users add illumination and dramatic effects to their scenes. Poser's Setup room is where you define a bone structure for the figure and attach these bones to specific parts of the figure's geometry (such as a leg bone to a thigh). The bone structure and its grouping with portions of the geometry is what enables a Poser figure to bend. The Setup room allows you to interactively create custom Poser figures from imported props (geometries) or modify existing figures. Experienced and novice figure builders alike will find that the Setup room dramatically decreases the time it takes to create or modify figures.
