Summary: Princeton Review - Inside the SAT/ACT 2002 Deluxe Software
Review: First, what's so deluxe about it? A flimsy...map with marketing [stuff] written all over it?

Second, the software crashed my system. The system fonts used are [bad], and the test questions are barely legible on my screen.

Third, the "pss" personal scoring system is a joke. It's a silly little animation, nothing more.

Fourth, I can't pause my tests and come back (I discovered this when the program crashed my system and I had to keep starting over).

Fifth, the animations are silly, and the lessons are patronizing.

Sixth, I couldn't find good information about how to improve my score with this software; it wasn't obvious.

I'm going to get the Kaplan product instead; when I've used my friend's copy, it really helped and showed me how to improve my score, helped me do research on schools, find ways to pay for schools & stuff.

Don't buy this product unless you have a couple hours to kill uninstalling it!

Summary: Great Product
Review: I have read all the negative reviews and I feel compelled to add my sucess story. I first bought this program for my oldest daughter (class of 2000). We decided to give this a try before spending money on a "live class" program. She had taken the SATs once and did not score as well as she wanted. She was an IB student with little time to "learn" how to score well on a test. She tried this software, not adhering faithfully to all the instructions, but completing most of it. She took the SAT at the end of her junior year. Her scores increased by a whooping 200 points! I recommended it to my sister and her son increased his scores by 150 points. It may be just a matter of a few pointers on how to answer a standardized test, or the fact that you are now focused on one type of question and they teach you how to answer it, but I would highly recommend it. It is not a live class, it will require self-motivation, and if you are not prepared academically, it will not replace what you should have learned in four years of high school, but it will teach you a few tricks on how to score better on standardized testing. My daughter is now a succesful junior at the University of Notre Dame (Early Admission). Good Luck!

Summary: It's a very good tutorial.
Review: I have used The Learning Company's Princeon Review: Inside the SAT & PSAT. I am now ordering this one for the ACT. If it is anything like the one I have been using, it is well worth it. I tried using study guides and used one before I took the GED. I wish I had had this type of study guide before I took it.
It is also very interesting and does keep your attention far better then a book. I highly recommend it.

Summary: Terrible
Review: I used it for about 10 minutes before I noticed something was wrong. It provides the wrong answers to many insanely obvious questions. This is just an attempt to [take] more money out of the standardized test franchise with a shoddy product. It calls itself a "2002 Deluxe Edition," but is intended to run on Win32 (it won't even run on Windows 2000). Don't waste your time on this poorly-made product from the Princeton Review; instead, purchase some books that will actually help you, like the College Board's "10 Real SATs."

Summary: It's Not That Great, Really
Review: The cartoonish instructors can get a little annoying, and once you've practiced a set of drills for any category, that's it. You're done. Good luck on the SAT, b/c you'll need it with this product. Why can't they just let me study the Hit Parade in peace, w/o watching the silly animation of CONGRATULATIONS, or some such word. Altogether, this probly raised my score quite a few points, but it could have been done in a more sophisticated manner.

Summary: Princeton Review - Inside the SAT/ACT 2002 Deluxe Software
Review: The Princeton Review "Inside the the SAT & ACT 2002 Deluxe" CD software damaged my computer's operating system (Windows 95) and required more than 6 hrs of repair time by a highly qualified PC technician. A complete re-imaging of my hard drive was required to restore full operation. This is the worst software I have ever encountered. Technical support from the manufacturer -The Learning Company was completely lacking and I never received a reply to a long distance toll call I made at my expense to their support center.

Summary: Great Learning Tool
Review: The Princeton Review is the ultimate in studying for the ACT/SAT. These people know both tests inside and out and have developed a straightforward approach to studying. I have used both the book and software versions of the Princeton Review and I suggest that anyone looking to better their scores should invest in this worthwhile product.
