Rating: Summary: The Dogs Rock Review: I like being scared and the beginning of this game does just that!! It makes you feel as if the dogs are coming right in your house!!... But then you find more clues as you play the game and are not afraid to go outside at night or that the dogs will really "get you".... It was a clever ending and the end was definately worth playing.... Another fun Nancy Drew game......
Rating: Summary: Disappointing and Dumbed Down Review: I am a fan of the Nancy Drew games, but this one was a disappointment. The game has a map interface that takes Nancy directly to her destination, which means no more wandering around for Nancy. Also, there is not nearly as many "things" to look at; instead many clues are "given" to Nancy by contacts on her cell phone. There was no "night time" alarm clock which takes away Nancy's opportunity to explore when people are not around; it also takes away much of the thrill and fear of "being caught." There wasn't much suspense in this game either and the mystery was very easy to solve. I gave the game two stars because my game was not buggy, things worked like they were supposed to and the villian was difficult to guess. I do think that Her Interactive should stick with their older formats: Ghost Dogs and the Haunted Mansion were great, suspensful games that required a detective to crack the case.
Rating: Summary: The Final Scene Review: Your visiting your friend Maya in St. Louis, Missouri and she has scored an interview with one of today's hottest young stars, Brady Armstrong. The interview is taking place at the Royal Palladium Theatre, which is undergoing demolition in a few days! Maya lets you tag along to the interview but, of course, you have to wait outside! Maya goes in and but a few seconds later, you hear a scream! It's Maya! You dash into the room and she's no where to be found! All of the sudden, the phone rings. It's someone saying they've taken Maya! They tell you that you have to stop the demolition to save Maya's life, What are you going to do?That is what starts the game, "The Final Scene" and let me tell you, it is exciting as it sounds. You can get behind Nancy 100% and you have to find Maya! I've played this game nearing 10 times and I do have to say it's one of my favorites. There are a wide range of challenges to deal with, each unique in there own ways. The graphics and movement in this game are wonderful and great for this type of game. If you've never played a Nancy Drew/Herinteractive game before, I assure you you will fall in love! I've been into Herinteractive's games for about 2 years and I absolutely love them! They never seem to get old, and with new ones coming out each year you always have something to look forward too. So if you're thinking about buying, The Final Scene, you won't be disappointed, weather this is your first ND game or your 10th!
Rating: Summary: Haunted Carousel Rocks !! Review: A very creative plot !! The clues fall right in line with the storey making it a simplier game to play but a really fun game. I thought this was a very creative way of piecing together the clues. Miles the robot was delightful and fun to follow his clues. More interactive things like computor games, playing the midway games and ordering food added a lot of fun to the game. Even if you are a #1 sleuth at Nancy Drew this game is worth playing. It was creative and takes thinking ahead to another level.
Rating: Summary: An Adventure Game, NOT a role playing game Review: Amazon's reviewer doesn't know what a role playing game is. Nancy Drew is an adventure game, not a role playing game. There are no statistics here, no skills for your character to improve, no behind-the-scenes rolls of the dice when you fight an enemy and, in fact, you fight no enemies. Instead a story, a mystery unfolds as you explore various environments and speak with various characters. It's enjoyable as all Nancy Drew games have been, falling squarely into the formula of tried and true mystery novels. You move about a la MYST, in a series of still screens, though characters animate now and then and a few cut scenes occur. The graphics are slick, the interface well designed, the voice acting professional, and yet there's something to these games that makes it clear that the bottom line, cost, was always well in mind as the game was being made. That is to say, Nancy Drew games are not no-holds-barred achievements like The Last Express (perhaps the best mystery game ever made, along with The Pandora Directive and Gabriel Knight 2). Nancy Drews fall into the B category of adventure games, alright, the B+ category, but are redeemed by their clean, bug free design, lovely graphics, and by Nancy's inimitable spirit. The game is on the easy side of difficulty, but still challenging enough to be fun for adults; but Nancy Drew lovers 10 and under should play with a little parental assistance. Of course, walkthroughs abound on the web and can help if both parent and child get stumped. Just type "The Haunted Carousel walkthrough" into any search engine.
Rating: Summary: Short Fun Review: This Nancy Drew Game, the Haunted Carousel was very exciting and I couldn't wait for it to come out. Three hours of game time, and I was done. I had solved the case, but not in the 25+ game time garunteed. I would have given it five stars, but it being so short I took off one star. I thought the characters were fun and some parts were really challenging such as using the lathe. My favorite characters were Joy and Miles, the riddles were great. I didn't really like how the cell phone would ring and naturally pop up, because sometimes it was in the middle of when I was planning to do something important. Overall though, it was a very fun game!!! I cannot wait until Danger on Deception Island. It sounds great and is coming as soon as October of this year!
Rating: Summary: BORING Review: I have played all of the Nancy Drew games, and ecxept for Secrets Can Kill, I enjoyed all of them. When I bought The Haunted Carousel I thought it was going to be as good as the best of them. I was very dissapointed. It was very short, very easy and you didn't have to snoop at all. The puzzles were very easy and the new computer feature helps you out too much. In conclusion I felt like this game was a waste of money. I still feel like the best game was Treasure in a Royal Tower.
Rating: Summary: i love nancy drew and herinteractive Review: i love to play this game with my brother and sister. it is kind of hard at the end but we still figured it out. we have 6 of these at home and we solved all of them! can't you believe this? well anyway this is just cool!!!! make more NANCY DREW games,HERINTERACTIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Disappointed Review: I have all the Nancy Drew mysteries...they are wonderfull.Which is why I'm so disappointed with this one in particular (The Haunted Carousel) It does'nt live up it its name, its as if they just whipped this out and depended on its name to sell it. Instead of 20 hours of game play, it should read 4+ hours and 10 and under intstead of 10 and over. Its too simple on senior (can't imagine what its like on junior) ..not at all like its thought provoking predecessors, there is'nt any depth to the plot. What happened to the sluething?
Rating: Summary: Great, but short Review: I'm a big fan of the Nancy Drew mystery games and Nancy Drew and the Haunted Carousel doesn't disappoint. Well, maybe a little. The story is good, game play is simple, but its too short. I got maybe 6 hours of game play out of it. If you're looking for a challenging adventure game, pass this up. If you're looking for a fun, easy, quick adventure, than this if for you. Perfect for kids.
