Rating: Summary: "I may have to cut this short, Hal... Review: ... Someone just climbed out of my wardrobe." I laughed out loud when the Simone, one of the colorful characters in this game, said that. I am totally addicted to these games, and HerInteractive just keeps pumping them out and making them better and better. It's interesting that some people criticized it for being too easy... others for being too hard. I guess it depends on what things you're good at. I was very happy that this game did not include one of those sliding tiles puzzles (like Secrets Can Kill and Message in a Haunted Mansion) as I'm terrible at those puzzles. Also, I was pleased that the part where you have to solve two puzzles to get to a particular thing remained solved, so that you don't have to solve those puzzles again to get in there the next time(unlike the wall panel in Nancy's bedroom in Message in a Haunted Mansion, among others). Also, like in Treasure in the Royal Tower, Ned, Bess and George are actually useful and give good hints (Another funny thing was when asking for Bess and George for help after doing the game on the "Senior Detective" level, they gave some sassy answer about finding it out on my own, being that I'm a senior detective... I applaud the increasing sense of humor in the games). In any event, I do love all of these games and I thank HerInteractive for giving me hours of shared fun with my daughter (I'm a 40-year old man, and I love these games at least as much as she does).
Rating: Summary: Too much fun! Review: The Final Scene was the best of the Nancy Drew games we tried. The suspense builds as you sneak around an old, soon-to-be demolished theater. There are lots of puzzles to solve so take good notes along the way. Don't trust anyone. Sometimes you get stuck and can't seem to go any further, then a new clue pops up and you suddenly find a secret passageway or a message that leads you to new parts of the story. Some interesting magic tricks are revealed along the way. The ending is a thriller, complete with scary music and sound effects. There is a real sense of accomplishment when you solve the crime. Buy this one if you want to experiment with the series...it was the most fun. Beware of other family members lurking nearby when you play...they may end up taking over because the suspense makes it so irresistable. This is a great way to spend a weekend or holiday with your daughters.
Rating: Summary: A step back for Herinteractive Review: I think this is a step back for Herinteractive.I had not disliked a ND game since Secrets Can Kill.I found this game boring. There were not many places to explore, and like others i found it annoying when they would suggest things you have already done.Plus the game is really short.I solved it in the senior level in about 3 hours.
Rating: Summary: To those who need help with this or any ND game: Review: Someone wrote that the 'stupid company' wants gamers to buy the solution guide (that might be true--probably is) but there is an excellent message board where you can ask and answer questions about the game you are having trouble with. If you are a child or teenager, there is no reason to think you might have trouble on the message board. The giving and asking of personal information is not allowed and the rules are enforced.
Rating: Summary: didn't live up to my expectations Review: After playing mystery in a haunted mansion , i bought this. it was more difficult than i expected , and not as many places to explore as the haunted mansion game. however , it was still very fun . also , i finished it within two nights , which was dissapointing , because i looked forward to playing for a week or two. but the characters were very interesting and misleading... so i didnt know who did it until the very end. overall , it was a good game
Rating: Summary: A Great game for all ages Review: This is a good game, and for once I can actully say that it is good for any age. It is fun, and sometimes a little tricky, but after a while of fooling around you can usally figure it out. This game is also good because you dont need a super good computer to use it. You only need 16 mb of ram(memory), which is considerably less compared to other games. The graphics are good, and highly detailed. And overall I would very much recommend this game.
Rating: Summary: It's pretty cool afterall Review: Okay, I recant the negative statements I made about this product (mine was the review titled "I am extremely annoyed by this game"). I got a little bit of help with it and after I got past the part that was giving me so much trouble, I enjoyed the game. It's pretty cool.
Rating: Summary: Fun but somewhat disappointing in the end Review: I was disappointed with this game. I enjoyed playing it, but I thought that the ending was way too predictable. I knew about ten to fifteen minutes into the game who the kidnapper was. The whole game wasn't easy. Some of the puzzles and things were really hard. As a matter of fact, if I hadn't gotten some help on a couple of things, I may not have been able to get to the ending. I was just very annoyed by the fact that I had to go through all this hard stuff just to be told something that I had known all along. Also, there was something in the story that went unexplained, unless there was an explanation and I just missed it. I can't elaborate on that part any further because I don't want to spoil the ending for those who won't find it that predictable.
Rating: Summary: I am extremely annoyed by this game Review: I was hesitant about buying any of these Nancy Drew CD-ROMs because I was never any good at solving the mysteries in the books. The only reason I finally decided to purchase one of them was because the package said that the game had built in hints if you wanted them. That statement is completely misleading. The only built in hints the game has is Bess, Ned, and George telling you to question all of the suspects. I'm not so stupid that I can't figure out on my own that I should question the suspects. The hints on the company's website was of no help to me. I was able to do on my own what the website tells you to do. The stupid company doesn't give hints to the harder clues because they want you to buy their solution guide. Which I admit I'll probably end up buying it, if I don't get mad and break the cd first, but I know one thing. The Final Scene is my first and last of their products that I will buy.
