Summary: Magic School Bus Explores In the Age Of Dinosaurs
Review: This is my first Magic School Bus software for my 4 year old daughter. She loves animals, dinos and bugs. She can spend hours playing this game. We have bought her other software, but this one is no doubt her favorite so far. She learns while she has fun.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Only so-so
Review: This is not as outstanding as the other Magic School Bus games. This is more click and point with static lessons that the child can read. Not much in the interactive area for my 5 year old. He loves most of the other Magic School Bus games, and does not mind this one but it is not one that he is attached to- and he loves learning about the solar system.

Summary: Spotty
Review: This is not the jewel in the crown of the Magic School Bus CD series (Animals, for example is much better), but it does have some good features. In particular, the activity on ozone & the greenhouse effect is excellent- our 2nd grader really grasped the concept after playing with it for a while.

The plot, however, is to find Ms. Frizzle, which our kids found frustrating. You get clues by earning tokens from an arcade-type game- the only MSB title we've seen that requires you to play an arcade game in order to complete it. It may be that the Microsoft progammers figure that space=boys=arcade game, but our kids were annoyed about it. They were even more annoyed when they worked out from the 1st clue where she was and found out that you have to get all 3 clues anyway.

On the other hand, kids who like arcade games might be induced to learn a bit about the solar system.

Summary: Great game if you want to learn about marine biology!!
Review: This is such a cool game! The Magic School Bus games are all quite good. I really like how you can visit many different ocean zones so you can see that not all parts of the ocean are alike. It is unique that you can "perform" your own science experiments on the same program that you can play fun games on. I like the game with the crab. :)
If your child shows any interest in marine biology, I highly recommend that you purchase this game!

Summary: Great lessons on the ocean
Review: This piece is great for kids. You should also consider the adventures of Captain -- Captain Jon's Island Adventure and Captain Jon Explores the Ocean.

Summary: Great Fun, Difficult to find everything
Review: Three boys, 5, 6, and 8, love this software. They find something new each time -- which is good. However, they aren't sure how to collect all the cards available, and the navigation leaves something to be desired.

However, for hours of educational fun, including funny parts -- I highly recommend this product.

Summary: Good stuff on the solar system!
Review: Very fun, fact-filled interactive material! Suitable for upper elementary kids. Includes some goofy games, a "where in the worlds did the Frizz go?" and lots of click-on goodies. Great way to play and learn!
