Summary: great fun and great game
Review: My 3 and a half year old daughter receieved this game for Christmas. She loves it! She can play it completely on her own and will play for at least an hour at a time! I usually have to tear her away from it! The games offers a good mix of fun and education! Definitely Recommmended!

Summary: Great Game!
Review: I bought this game for my 3 1/2 year old daughter. She loves Dora and I knew she would love the game. My 5 year old daughter loves it to, she just plays the higher level. It has a lot of fun learning activities and it is really cute. I'm really impressed. I've bought several computer games in the past few years, but this is the best one I've seen yet.

Summary: Beware of this product
Review: My daughter loves this game, but after installing the game, I realized that it had also decided to install some software from Gator.com.

If you are not aware of what gator is, it is a massive online privacy violation. It will track all of your web travels, giving gator information that you have entered into webforms. This has nothing to do with the game, and is a blatant violation of your and your childs privacy.

If I had a way to give this a lower rating I would. My daughter played for about 5 minutes before she ran into a hang that needed the computer rebooted, and we couldn't play anymore. Go somewhere else to find your childs games

Summary: PERFECT first computer game
Review: My 2 year old daughter (soon to be 3) absolutely LOVES this game. Her 5 year old brother has been proficient at these computer games since before her age, but for some reason she just couldn't get the mouse coordinated with the computer arrow on the screen. This is the first game that she has been able to master, and while it is boring and repetitive to adults (and her brother), it has built her confidence and love of learning.
If you are searching for a fun first computer game for your toddler, and he or she loves Dora...this is the one! The graphics and sounds are just like watching the television show, but truly interactive.

Summary: Lost City
Review: My niece is going to love this game! There are a lot of challenging, yet reasonable games for the kids to play. I am looking forward to her playing it!

Summary: Novelty more than the game itself
Review: My twins have mixed feelings about this game. They're 4 and while both enjoy it, they quickly tire of it. Since children have short attention spans that may play into it. It's also possible that the challenges aren't enough to keep them interested. I vote for the later as I've seen them walk away from it many times. It's the romance of interacting with Dora they enjoy more than the game itself. It's the familarity of the characters more than the challenges.

The sticker portion of the game is the most fun for my 4 year olds. They love to pull down the various characters and put them in odd places for a laugh. Your children will probably quickly be bored by level 1 so the challenges do increase a bit (particularly during the balloon portionof the game). I do dislike the fact that there's no CD-ROM case included as it's already been scratched a bit. There is an instruction booklet with an 800 # should you have issues or problems.

That's not to suggest it's all bad. There are a couple of adventures here that I've observed involve them more than others. There are problems with the software, however, and it should be noted. First, it's difficult to end the program once you get into it. You can't just exit. I realize this is to prevent children from accidently leaving the program but when I have to close it out to go on line or run another program it's annoying. I have to parade back to the beginning of the game. If you hit escape you don't leave and if you right click nothing happens. There's no icon for quitting the game or saving it where you are (although it apparently does save whatever previous game you were in although since I don't play it I can't confirm that).

Although it's not perfect, Dora's Backpack Adventure does offer some distraction and learning opportunities for children. It's age range is appropriate though you should be prepared that they may be bored. They will more than likely come back to it either for the novelty of Dora's world or to try challenges they understand and can solve.

Summary: NOT For kids under 5! TOO HARD!
Review: My son is 3 and a half. He has mastered many games like Jumpstart Preschool, etc.. This game is way to difficult for him. There are numbers moving on the wall, so he not only has to identify the numbers but try to click on them as they move past. I would HIGHLY not recommend this game for younger kids under the age of 5.

Summary: A Great Adventure for the Little Ones!
Review: Our four-year-old daughter loves Dora the Explorer, so we were delighted to see the release of Lost City Adventure. The reviews so far have been raves from the little one (and from us). The animation, music and sound are first rate, but more importantly, the challenges are appropriately measured for a pre-schooler. This program stacks up well against the Knowledge Adventure titles like Reader Rabbit. Skills such as sequencing, color matching, memory and basic addition are developed in fun and entertaining environments. Plus, there are three difficulty levels, so if your child is frustrated or bored at a certain level, you can adjust accordingly.

The program works great using the Classic environment on our Macintosh G4 laptop and G3 desktop computers. Have fun!

Summary: Do NOT buy this!!
Review: My 3 1/2 year-old daughter was so excited to receive the Lost City Adventure we had to play it as soon as she opened it! So to make a really long story short....The software has a problem! The first one we purchased had sound problems (so choppy we couldn't understand anything.) We purchased another one thinking it was a software flaw....same problem. Our computer had more than the required systems. After an hour of trouble shooting we called tech support. They tech support was not at all surprised to hear our plight. It appears that there is a problem with the program and they immediately asked us to send the software back. They are replacing it with other software but not giving back our $$. I guess if I pushed it they may have given us a refund. Your best bet would be to wait until a new version comes along!

Summary: Kids Like Repition
Review: I have b/g twins - almost 4 - and this has become their favorite game! Yes, I got bored with it very quickly - but they LOVE it - and they now get on the computer themselves, and pop it in. They love typing their names in and "owning" the whole game (without my help). I'm sure they'll tire of it soon, but we got it during the summer, and it's November and they still "play Dora" almost every day! Kids LIKE repition!
