Rating: Summary: Dora Fan Review: Don't waste your money. Any challenge is over the very first time your child will play it. All 3 difficulty levels are almost the same and the whole game is so repetitive. Big disappointment.
Rating: Summary: Really a great game for kids Review: My 3 year old has all the Dora PC games and loves them. We have never had a problem with any of them and she has no problem playing them at all.
Rating: Summary: In defense of Dora Review: I don't usually write reviews, but I feel like this game has been sold short. My 4 year old daughter loves it! My 4 year old son loves to watch her play it as he is still frustrated by using the mouse. I would recommend it highly.
Rating: Summary: NOT WORTH GETTING Review: THOUGH IT IS A VERY NICE LOOKING GAME IT IS NOT VERY CHALLENGING. MY BOYS 3 AND 2 YEARS OLD FINISHED IT THE VERY FIRST TRY ON THE HARDEST LEVEL. YOU DO GET THE DORA SHOWS SONGS AND THE FEEL OF THE SHOW BUT AFTER 10 MINS OR SO THE GAME IS FINISHED. MY SONS GOT BORED OF THE SAME THING AND MOVED ON. AND NOT WORTH THE $19 ASKING PRICE ON THIS SITE. AT LEAST I PAID 1/3 THE PRICE.
Rating: Summary: Trouble for the Mac user Review: We bought this game because my son enjoys Dora and the game specifically said it would work on the Mac. Well the game is great and works great on our PC, but we cannot get it to work properly on our Mac. There is a patch on the website which we have tried, but the game works "hit and miss". The problem is that the mouse does not align properly with what is on the screen. So, I would recommend the software but not for MacIntosh users.
Rating: Summary: Well My Three Year Old Loves It Review: In Dora's Backpack Adventure you guide Dora, with her trusty companion Boots of course, not to mention the necessary Backpack through a set of standard obstacles to the library. The format follows the TV episode, not suprising perhaps since that is modelled on computer games!
There are three levels to play at; as far as I could tell each one introduces a little more Spanish into it. There is also a sticker book to do which provides endless entertainment in itself.
My daughter, who is three, loves it. She no longer watches Dora much but the enjoyment she gets mastering the mouse and being in control of her destiny is great. We only bring it out every now and then which keeps the replayability up.
A number of reviews complain it is too short and/or basic. Well it certainly isn't going to be much good past three but if you do all of the parts of the game, including the optional exploring, it can while a way an hour or more if your child has a good attention span. The reviews where it says two year olds found it too simple lead me to believe the two year old was not controlling the game themselves since it requires a reasonable dexterity.
All in all we find Dora enjoyable. We haven't noticed any performance issues but we do have a pretty powerful laptop. The game having to be in the CD drive doesn't bother me in the slightest.
In summary if your child is into Dora and hasn't advanced to harder computer games, this is great!
Rating: Summary: A waste of money.... Review: This game was a gift for my 3 year old. When we installed it, the sound was so choppy, we couldn't play the game. I tried all the troubleshooting suggestions, with no luck. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and my entire system crashed. Needless to say, we have not attempted Dora again. After reading these reviews, I think I will call tech support and ask for a refund, rather than a replacement, as another reviewer suggested. What a waste and a disappointment.
Rating: Summary: Dora the Explorer takes you a short and boring journey Review: I have a 3 year old, and after a week, she is already bored with this game. For $20, there should be more to do. It constantly repeats itself, and has no real direction. Very limited number of activities available, and really no variety. I would not recommend this game at all. I am currently reading reviews to find something much more interesting.
