Summary: Software did not work
Review: My 3 year old son was excited to use the software on Xmas. Unfortunately, the product did not work with Winddows ME. The instructions had a lot of details about compatibilty issues which tipped me off that something was wrong. After many attempts and following the instructions carefully, I finally gave up and returned the product. Very poorly written software.

Summary: doesn't work with newer programs
Review: My child recieved this for a birthday gift. The system requirments are for Windows 95/98, we have Windows ME.Though we have not had a problem running any other software I e-mailed the company to be sure it would work for us. I was told that it may need a download for our video card but try it to see. When I tried to install and run it made very loud rattling sound, froze the computer and jammed (would not come out).I then called the company and was then told that it would not work with Windows ME because the media player can not support it.I suggested that they lable the package Windows 95/98 ONLY to save anyone elce this hassle. I can not return it because it has been opened, my child is upset that the gift he asked for can't be used, and I am not very happy with the way the company handeled the situation.

Summary: A just for fun game for little ones
Review: My son has been using the computer and mouse since he turned two and he has advanced to using the Disney Preschool and Kindergarten software by 2 1/2 (which are excellent products). When we got the Bob the Builder software - I was disappointed by the lack of real educational value - but my son just loves playing the games. I have realized that not all software should be for learning some should just be for fun and creativity! This software is great for a fun break from all the learning software and just allows kids to play and have fun. My son's favorite parts are Porcupine Rescue and Wendy's Birthday.

Summary: Help Bob - can you fix this?
Review: My son has the videos, the trucks (including the hard to find Lofty), the tool belt and hat and he knows all of the words to the theme song. He also owns this CD and, its disappointing at best. The games are trite, even for my 2 1/2 year old. While the game looks nice with the 3-D shorts at the beginning and end of each game, its difficult to see any long term game playing here. One star is probably too high.

Summary: Unsophisticated, Disappointing and Boring
Review: My son is 3 1/2 and loves Bob and playing on the computer. This CD was a huge disappointment. It does not meet the standards of most quality Windows 95/98 CDs for this age group. Most of the movement through the games is done with the arrows on the keyboard rather than the mouse - primitive at best. My son likes to see the characters that he knows and loves but is bored with the program after about five minutes. Graphics, music, voice assistance are all out of date. Too bad. We bought this program in the U.K. Was hoping that the U.S. version would be something different but from the picture of the cover that Amazon is showing it appears to be the same CD ROM that I have. Too bad.

Summary: My 2 year old loves it
Review: My son learned to use the mouse playing this game. He loves all the games included: decorating the cake, fixing the leaks, building the bridge, etc.... He plays for an hour or so every time we put it on. Unlike Reader Rabbit, this game requires the use of the left mouse button, and that is NOT difficult for a 2 year old to learn.
For a kid that likes Bob the Builder, this is a great game. I strongly recommend it.

Summary: My son loves Bob
Review: My three year old received this game for his birhday and he loves to play it. Nothing educational about it but it built his confidence to work the computer himself since he can do most of the activies with either the arrows or the mouse. He would rather play the game on the computer then watch the show on TV.

Summary: another DUD for childrens software
Review: There seems to be a great lack of quality in childrens software and this is a shining example. Children look forward to using a new title and it is heartbreaking to have them disappointed. The game is very difficult to load and seems to have endless video problems. Customer support is pretty much nil, web sites that the game refers you to have no on-line support for the game. I would definetly pass and buy something from Reader Rabbit. (this game ended up in garbage)
