Summary: Very disappointing
Review: I bought this game for my 5 year old son. I ended up playing for him. The movement of the heroes is very sporadic. I even had a hard time getting the men to slow down so I could get to the hotspots to click on them. They were very jumpy and he was getting very upset because he couldn't click on anything. The game itself was ok. It only took us about 2 hours to finish it. I probably won't buy any more Rescue Heroes on CD Rom.

Summary: Requires too much coordination
Review: I bought this software for my 5 year old. He has a couple of the other RH software games and he likes them a lot. This game, however, was too challenging for him. The biggest problem I see is that the game requires the child to be able to maneuver the vehicle using all 4 scroll keys on the keyboard. During one exercise, which by the way you can't get to the next level until you complete this exercise, the game requires that you use the keys to move while watching out for falling lava rocks and clouds, monitor a fuel gauge, watch arrow indicators that help you determine where objects are in the arena below, and watch a scope that shows animals when you're hovering over the top of them.

I tried to perform this exercise myself and got frustrated. It's just too hard to expect even a 7 year old to complete this exercise let alone a 5 year old.

There are some exercises he can complete himself but they mostly require using the left, right keys.

I don't know who this game would be good for. Parts of it would be too easy for someone 7 or older. Yet some parts are too difficult for those younger than that.

Summary: Inaginext Pirate Raider
Review: I gave it a 1 because they did not have a 0, to give. I bought this game for my son and I try to install it and it tells me that it has encountered an error. I go to the web site and it tells me what to do with that error, but after I do what it told me it does the same error thing again. My son and I both got so frustrated and finally gave up. I am returning it to the place where I purchased it for a full refund. Good luck for those of you that also bought this Horrible Game.

Summary: Lava Landslide
Review: I gave this game to my son as an early birthday present. He's almost four and loves the Rescue Heroes. The reviews I read were mixed so I decided to buy it anyway. I'm really glad I did. Sure it's challenging, but it's a good excuse for the parents to get involved. First I did the hard parts for him, to show him what needed to be done. Then I guided him through them and finally he ended up doing it all by himself. He was so proud when he accomplished the hard tasks that he couldn't do at first!

Unlike most computer games this one requires the use of the arrow keys instead of the mouse. Well, it's always nice to learn new skills.
I can't wait to give my son the two other RH games I baught for his birthday. I have no doubt he'll love them too.

Summary: You can't pick which parts you want to play!
Review: I got this for my 4 year old son because he really likes Rescue Heroes and it sounded like it would have some adventures for him.
What the description doesn't tell you is that you can't pick which activities you want to play. You have to complete one part before you can go to the next which just doesn't make sense for this age group. There are certain parts he has no interest in or are too challenging so he gets frustrated and can't get to play the parts he does enjoy. The graphics for the different rescues are very basic and each time you go through the sequence it's exactly the same stuff, so even if he could do it I think it would get boring fast. The only reason I gave this 2 stars instead of 1 is that my son has enjoyed watching it (while I play it). If you're looking for something your child can do easily by themselves without getting frustated - don't get it. Almost all of the play involves using the arrow keys instead of the mouse. If your child has no problem with the arrow keys, he might not have trouble.

Summary: Fantastic Game for little ones!!
Review: I have a 2 and a 4 year old and they both love this game. Both The characters, games and activities keep them busy for quite a while. They also ask to play this game over and over. We buy a lot of computer games and this is one I definitely would recommend!

Summary: excellent
Review: I have a 3 1/2 yr old son who loves this game. EXPERIENCE NECESSARY...the mouse is the only game control. This is also a benefit...hand eye coordination.

Summary: Good, but not as good as the other Rescue Heroes games
Review: I purchased this game for my 5 year old twin boys. They are major Rescue Hero fans and we have every game and action figure made. The boys love this game because of URV. They can't wait to get one from Santa this Christmas. However, the game is frustrating because it is too sequential. There are eight games. On the main menu there are only four games to choose from. Then there are another four games that are stacked behind the original four games. You can't play the second tier games until you complete the first tier game successfully. And then once you complete a game, you can't repeat it until you finish all 8 games or quit and start over. Young children learn by repetition. The boys want to play a game over and over until they master it.
Overall this is a good game and I am glad I bought it. However, Meteor Madness and Huricane Havoc were better thought out. Sometimes I wonder if the computer programmers who design these games ever watch a child play them.

Summary: mediocre software for avid Rescue Heroes fans only
Review: Meteors have hit the planet, resulting in a series of widely scattered emergencies that require the Rescue Heroes to intervene -- and they need your help!!

The graphics are good, the intro is exciting .... but after that the game is totally mediocre. Four activities have three levels of difficulty, but they are quite tedious no matter what level you play. (1) Move around a water maze to rescue people in a flooded movie studio, and shoot a life preserver over a moving line of floating objects. (2) Navigate a maze on a rock face as you rescue stranded climbers while avoiding vicious eagles and snakes. (3) Aim a hose at brush fires so you can find and rescue animals on an African preserve. (4) Snowboard down a ski slope without hitting the shrubbery so you can dig people out from under an avalanche.

The hype is here, but the games are very boring. Your child has little flexibility or independence when performing tasks, and those tasks probably use only 2% of your child's brain power. For example, in order to dig people out of the avalanche, you click on the snow cave over and over, it doesn't matter where, until the person trapped within tells you how great you are -- and every time it's the same person in the snow cave. Each game is rather mindless in this way. There is little reasoning required and no skills acquired.

This is lame software that has neither educational value nor excitement. When there are so many worthwhile children's software titles out there, don't waste your money or your child's time on this lazy stuff. It may be worthwhile for the truly avid Rescue Heroes fan, but even that is doubtful. This was our first Rescue Heroes title. It is also our last.
