Rating: Summary: "limited" edition Review: Even though the animation and graphics are appealing, the depth of this game barely exceeds that of a birdbath. The tasks are few and simple, and the levels are barely discernable as different. The only reason my kids play this one is because of the catchy songs and images they warmly associate with the well done videos. Of little or no educational value. Hope they try again, perhaps with an education or child development consultant.
Rating: Summary: SO SAD Review: I am so disappointed with the Thomas the Tank Engine CD ROMS. I will never buy another one. SO SAD. My son loves Thomas so I bought the CD ROM game hoping it would different then the one I bought last Christmas that DIDN'T WORK. And yet again, my system is still not adequate enough for this game. I can run every other CD ROM I have purchased from other companies EXCEPT these. I cannot believe companies can get away with this. These Thomas CD's freeze up my system, prompt consistently with error messages, prompt that I need a new sound card and video card. WHAT A SHAME!!!!! ...
Rating: Summary: WARNING - Windows Killer! Review: I bought this game last night for my two-year-old, and installed it right away. Installation seemed to go smoothly, until it reached the point where it had to restart the system.I wish I hadn't clicked on "OK" so quickly. It would have been nice to say goodbye to a lifetime's worth of data and work. Yup, "Thomas the Tank Engine: Trouble On The Tracks" killed my computer dead. Windows is utterly corrupted, and I am now the proud owner of a $2,000.00 paperweight. "Windows must be reinstalled"..."Kernal32 corrupted"...and then nothing. I've never seen Windows deader than this, and I can't even reinstall. I've got a boot disk and will try again tonight, but at this point I have no way of knowing if ANY of my data has survived. The game cost $9.96 at Wal-Mart. It wasn't worth it.
Rating: Summary: Thomas and Friends Trouble on the Tracks Review: I bought this software for my 4 year old grandson. I'm sorry I did. He's a fairly smart little guy but he (and I) couldn't figure out how to navigate through this one. He got very bored with it very quickly. I'm sorry I purchased it. I guess if you like sitting in front of a computer and having a story read to you, then you'll like this. He kept asking me "when am I going to get to play?". I don't recommend buying this software.
Rating: Summary: Thomas the Tank Engine: Trouble on the Tracks Review: I highly recommend this for any young Thomas the Tank Engine fan. My 2.5 year old loves this. The graphics are very nice and detailed. As your child completes an activity, he can click on Thomas and go to the next stage of the journey. This is especially for the child who loves James. The activities on the island are: Search for James (James fell off the tracks and the user needs to guide Harold the Helicopter over the island to find James); Collect the Coal; Fix the Breakdown Train; Find James' Whistle; Load the Freight; Locate James' Lamp; Repair James; Prepare James for his Run. It hs 3 levels of difficulty and certificates are kept in the Controller's Office. Beware of the minimum system requirements though - the software states you need at least a Pentium 166 and 32 MB RAM and we have a Pentium 233 and 64 MB RAM and it still runs a bit choppy. And it wouldn't let us do a maximum install which would allow us to play without the CD installed.
Rating: Summary: This is the best game I've ever played! Review: I love this CD-ROM a lot. It is as good as the last one. The one game I'm down on is 'Load the Goods'. Though it is a good game, I find it challenging. I'll keep playing this CD-ROM a lot. Because my favorite character is James, that's why I like it so much!
Rating: Summary: Short shelf life Review: My 3 1/2 year old son loved this CD for exactly 2 days, then became bored with it and hasn't picked it up since. The games on it are one-dimensional and not geared for long-term play.
Rating: Summary: Short shelf life Review: My 4 year-old played with it for about 2 weeks and then she has never asked me to play it again. It's just not that interesting and challenging. You have to go at the software's pace of things, which is annoying since you may already be familiar with the instructions. So because the longevity factor doesn't last too long and the challenge factor is not there, I cannot recommend this game.

Rating: Summary: A Fun Thomas Computer Game Review: My son first played this game at our local public library and immediately fell in love with it. So, when we purchased our own computer, this was one of our first software purchases. The interaction in the game is great and allows the user the chance to do lots of different things, such as loading coal into a truck or connecting gears in the proper sequence to enable a crane to remove a disabled train from the tracks. It encourages critical thinking from the child while providing hours of fun. The graphics are very bright and colorful as well. Installation on my system was smooth and easy, and I haven't had any problems running the game since. I recommend this game very highly. There are many different activities for both boys and girls, and they will surely enjoy the bright and fun Thomas activities.
