Summary: Give me a break!
Review: Alexandra Parker is battling breast cancer and her husband, Sam, is being a real jerk because he can't deal with her illness. His mother died of cancer and he just can't face the trials and tribulations his wife has to go through to conquer her illness. I don't know what Danielle Steel was thinking when she wrote this book, but the characther of Alexandra should not have taken her husband back after his terrible treatment of her immediately after she was diagnosed. And then he has an affair to boot with a self-centered, social climbing twit. While cancer is very hard on family members, and some spouses cannot cope, I feel that Ms. Steel took this to the extreme... and some of the scenarios just happened much to quickly after Alexandra was diagnosed.

Summary: Trite, trite, awful, annoying...
Review: I am stunned that a book like "Lightning" would sell even one copy. Mine was given to me, but should have been tossed in the trash instead. I cannot begin to talk about what is wrong with this book because there is nothing right. Worthless!!!!and pathetic and beyond. For heaven sake if you are really of fan of Steel's (I find that hard to believe) than check it out of the library, do not waste a dime on this trash. "Lightning" discredits all women and is a sham. It does not deserve even one star.

Summary: Good book with good plot but disappointing ending.
Review: I really enjoyed reading this nearly 400-page book. It took me two days to read all of it, but I think that it was well worth my time.

This book was very sad and emotional for me to read, but I really felt for Alex Parker, the protagonist in this story. Her mean husband, Sam, goes on a high-fledged affair with lots of intimate "doing-it" when his wife is suffering from chemotherapy/mastectomy.

I hated the ending, Sam should have gone to prison instead of probation, and I think she should have went & married Brock, who was no doubt my favorite character here. Brock was the nice one, caring for Alex while she was sick, but in the end, Alex went back to that no good cheating lunatic Sam, while she left Brock to go back to Illinois. Bad ending.

Summary: depressing drivel
Review: This book was fantasically filling, and i loved the whole thing to death! But if you were to put this out in reality, I would be so upset!
So the book is about a Married couple Sam and Alex Parker, and Alex is diagnosed with breast cancer, and sam just cant quite deal with it. So while poor Alex is so sick pucking her guts out because of the Chemo, Sam is out sleeping around with this little office [trash], ruining everything! He treats her like garbage and i dont think that she should have taken him back. That really made me mad. He got to go have all his fun, while she was home sick, but when the tables turn, he suddenly realizes that he cant live without her....well you shouldve realized that before the office girl...oooh

anyways, other than that this book is excellent and a very fun read.

Summary: Good....but sad
Review: This one was really good, but the fact that Alexandra gets cancer and her husband dosen't support her is horrible! Also, when she helps him in the end when he didn't help her. It's heartbreaking, but good!

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Don't waste your time with this one!
Review: Yes, it may be depressing, and yes, it may even be a bit predictable- but it's still a good book! I've read every book by Danielle Steel & have loved almost all of them. This one is no different. A story about survival, bravery & courage- who can't use a little of that in their lives. It truly inspires you to be thankful for your health & to want to help those who don't have that.
