Summary: One of the Greatest Books to read for school
Review: When I first started reading this book for my AP English class, I thought: "Oh great, anither boring and stupid book," I was wrong, when I got into it I couldn't put it down. I've been recommending it to all of my friends.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: " this will teach you about yourself, and those around you"
Review: this is one book that you cannot put down! i would definitely recommend it for students over the age of 17, for the language and its' usage is very mature. the novel flows smoothly, and the story line is fantastic. i learned a few lessons from Ms. Walker through this book, and am richer for having read it.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: touching with a taste of boredom
Review: this book took a while to get into but once in I actually got quite into the book. The middle of the book got slightly slow but got back into the story at the end. It is however quite touching and you can sympathise with celie and all the traumas and heart brake she experiences.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Really emotional and intense
Review: The main character is a African American girl named Celie. Celie would write letters to god everyday. Celie grew up in a broken home. Her mother is killed, and Celie and her siblings are raised by their father. Their father abuses the kids mentally, physically, and sexually. Celie is forced to marry Mr.___. Mr.___ beat her and the kids all of the time. Shug Avery helps Celie survive and teaches her to smile, and laugh, and love.

"The Color Purple" is a really great book. Readers will enjoy this book because the book is really intense and emotional. The author expresses the characters' feelings and takes the readers into the characters' mind. The book will open your eyes and touch your heart.

Summary: Marvelous! An exellent book.
Review: Alice Walker is brilliant. She dared to write in a non-traditional format and dialect, which added to the poignancy of the book. The characters are touching, and truly shows the bond between women and men. It is not only a story of revelation, but a saga filled with joy, pain, and bittersweet humor. One of the best novels of our time.

Summary: This was the most amasing book i ever read!!!!!
Review: I found this book to be one of those books you find yourself to be constanly looking back to. this book kept me interested from page 1. I am not someone who likes to read that much... well I do, but I have trouble finding the right thing to read. this book I guess just did it for me. Celie was so aware of life and so innocent to it all at the same time. I think how she loved GOD so much made the story very interesting. You don't find that much these days with characters truly trusting GOD so much and how celie talked to GOD made me gain so much faith in the world and it made me regain faith in GOD. It helped me realize that there are turly people out there who do most completly believe in GOD... still even after what they have been through. I found this book to be one of the best books that i have ever read. It really captured me until the end where I then read it over. I thank Alice Walker for writting it, because it really needed to be written.

Summary: A Classic Story of Love and Triumph!
Review: This is a very well written book, once you get past the "southern black" dialect. The story shocks at first, but give it a chance and you certainly won't be disappointed. This is certainly one of those books that you must read at least once during your life.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Great Book
Review: The color purple is a book that I'm reading in my English class. The story is told by letters to which are to her sister and to god. Celie is a black women who has been abused by men and who is not very literate.celie is a women lashed by adbandoment, incest, physical and emotional abuse. She was raped by her father, which she had know control over. I think this was a great book .I feel that I have learned about how people In this position feel about what happens to themselves and the shame they have toward them selves. My eyes are open to all those people in the world who have faced this problem, or know someone who is. I feel that as a person, and one day a mother, that it is our dessions that determine who and what we get our selves into.
