Summary: A deeply moving story about family love, and survival.
Review: I loved every second of this book! I got so involved with these characters that I felt like I actually knew them. This story is so well written, that the reader feels like he/she is experiencing everything that the Winfields experienced. The part about the sinking of the Titanic was so realistic, that now I am afraid to ever get on a ship! This is the kind of book that you hate to finish, because you never want to say goodbye to these characters.

Summary: Loved it!
Review: I loved this story! Edwina is an amazing character, that literally gives up her hopes and dreams to take care of her siblings - after being orphaned from the Titanic disaster. The character does what every big sister would probably do in the situation, but Danielle Steel puts it in words that makes us all face this. As the youngest sibling in my family, it made me look at my oldest sister in a different light... would she make the same sacrifices for her crazy siblings? I think so. This is an excellent book... and one Danielle Steel's best!

Summary: Great, except for a few things...
Review: I read this book about 6 or 7 months ago, so I have forgotten a few points of the book, but do remember how much I enjoyed it. I stumbled across this book after seeing the most updated version of "Titanic", with Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. I fell instantly in love with the movie, and wanted to explore the many Titanic books available at my local public library. I came across this book and read it. At first, I thought it was going to be a disappointment, but with all of the twists and turns and fun of the book, I ended up adoring it. The only thing that I didn't like about it, was realizing that it was indeed pure entertainment only, and wasn't a book for my brain. It was like watching a movie or TV show...never wanting to turn away for one second. Even so, I do give this book 4 stars, and must congratulate Ms. Steele on a job well done.

Review: I think that this book is great, it is a new twist to the Titanic thing. It shows how a family may have to cope with the disaster. I LOVED it.

Summary: The Worst Book Ever Written!
Review: If there were a list of the worst books ever written, this one would be on top of the list.

What bothered me the most was the fact that the author portrayed the mother as loving her children with all her heart, but when this "mother," and I use the term loosely, saw her husband drowning, she jumped in the water to drown along with him because the thought of living without him was too much to bear. With all those children???? She could have been saved along with her children, but she cared so little about them, she committed suicide and left them in the care of Edwina, her eldest daughter. Tell me what mother would do this to her children? To add insult to injury, those children were so annoying, I didn't care what happened to them. I wanted to throw myself in the ocean after reading this poor excuse for a book.

I wrote a letter to Ms Steel to let her know how much I despised this book, but she never replied, not that I thought she would. Save your money and buy anything but this book.

Summary: Enjoyable Read - Possible Spoilers
Review: Just finished reading this and must say that I really liked the character of Edwina. I admired the fact that she single handedly raised her younger siblings and tried to keep the family business intact. I found it unfair and selfish that the mother decided to stay and die with the father, leaving VERY young children behind for a women barely out of childhood herself, to raise.
In any case, I hightly recommend it for any Danielle Steele fans.
