Rating: Summary: Excellent reading, once again Review: This book was one of the most enjoyable ones that I have read by Danielle Steel. The characters were vivid and enjoyable and the historical events were presented in an exciting way. The romance was wonderful and the short chapters make it an excellent book to read when you don't have much time. (I'll just read ONE more chapter!)
Rating: Summary: an obession Review: this is the best book I've ever read. it pulled so much emotion out of me - from tears to joy. I could not put it down - it was like the obession I never had. I wanted it to go on and on yet I had to know the ending. If ever I wanted a squeal...

Rating: Summary: Feel Like Being There Review: True to form as in the other dozens of DS books I've read, you're there! DS has the devine ability to make the reader feel the time, atmosphere and emotion. She placed me in the Driscoll household in 1930s San Fransisco. I was experiencing the silence and the tension in the house. I felt the anamosity between the sisters and could sense the respect demanded by Grandfather. I found myself "rooting" for Audrey when she decided to travel Europe. When nutured a friendship with Vi and James, they were my friends too. I felt the agonizing drama of Audrey's deciding to follow her true love around the world. Along with Audrey, I expereinced the sounds and smells of Turkey and China. I found myself wanting Audrey to "fix" the orphanage and save the infant. I cried with Audrey when she found, lost, and found her true love again. I mourned her losses during the plot and grieved the pain of death with her. I rejoiced in Audrey's rewards and was never disappointed with the twists and turns of her travels and accomplishments. I would truly recommend this book to any DS reader, new or experienced. I am thoroughly looking forward to the next one!
