Summary: INTRIGUING
Review: This book is truly a must read! It is so difficult to believe that this is the first book written by Victoria Christopher Murray. I totally agree with previous reviewers. The book held my interest from the beginning to the very end. This is exactly the kind of reading material for which I've been looking. Victoria does an excellent job of showing that Christians are also faced with real trials and tribulations, however, the beauty of this book is laid out through the actions taken by characters who have decided to do things God's way no matter the consequence(s). I was so blessed by Jefferson's determination to tell the truth and trust God to work a bad decision for good, in the face of loosing everything, including his wife, his daughter and his reputation. Then there's Alexis, who as a single sucessful young woman, has made a commitment to God and honors it more than the newly found relationship with the man of her dreams. This book definitely encourages one to stand firm on God's word and just watch Him grant the disires of the heart in His own perfect timing.

I was so caught up in the lives of the characters of the book, I dared to put it down. I must have read this book in record time. Bravo, Victoria! I'm looking forward to you next work!

Summary: Excellent, Excellent, Excellent.
Review: Five stars is not enough to rate this book. I give this book an absolute 10. I have never read a book so inspiring, so wonderful, so full of everything that your looking for in a book. It's a page turner from beginning to end. I love the way the author quoted scriptures, that in fact helped to encourage and up lift me. Very inspirational. I just can't rave anymore about this book. This is by far one of the best books I have ever read in my life. I love the way Victor Christopher Murray made you feel Kyla and Jefferson's pain, their sorrow, their joys, their happiness. I mean she really made you feel what each character was going through. She just could not have done a better job. Oh and Brian and Alexis, Couldn't have happened to a better couple. I thank God for blessing Ms. Murray with such enormous talent. Truly his hand was in this. Victoria Christopher Murray, continue looking to the hills from whence cometh your help and know that he will do the rest. I will definetly be looking forward to reading more of her work. I would recommend this book to all. You won't be dissapointed.

Summary: Applying God's word to real-life situations
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. Temptation is an excellent read. I was completely inspired by this novel, because of the real-life situations that were explored using God's word as a solution to problems and a way of maintaining success. A successful marriage can only be maintained if both partners have a relationship with God. Even though Jefferson fell, he had the decency to admit his mistake and felt true sorrow over it. Christians fall, because we are humans, but through God's grace we are able to stand again. Christopher-Murray did an excellent job of producing real-life characters who are devoted to God, but still struggle with humanly weaknesses. There are a plethora of fiction novels that deal with issues related to relationships, marriages, and friendships, but this novel not only explores those issues, but by following God's word, offers a blueprint for success in overcoming obstacles in those areas, which are also applicable in other areas of an individual's life. I recommend this novel to anyone who wants to see that God's word is timeless and will always stand true, regardless of any situation.

Summary: Inspiring and Entertaining!
Review: I enjoyed Ms. Murray's book TEMPTATION more than I have enjoyed any book of Christian fiction ever! The story line was engaging and intriguing. It was so refreshing to see a very difficult but real marital problem dealt with from a biblical perspective. This is a great read for anyone!

Summary: Good Christian fiction
Review: If your a believer and you enjoy fiction by african-american authors...but you can't handle books such as Eric Jerome, E.Lynn you will enjoy this book. My bookclub which is more secular enjoyed the book and the storyline...but at times we became distracted with all of the Bible verses. At times the characters were not realistic...and overall the author wrapped it up too neatly "happily ever after" ending. I felt she spent too much time on irrelvent information rather than developing and finishing up each persons story. I would read her next novel just to see if she has improved...if you enjoy her work check out the secular story...by Kimberla Lawson Roby "Casting The First Stone".

Summary: Lead Us Not Into Temptation!
Review: When I discovered that TEMPTATION was a contemporary Christian novel, I was a little unsure if I would enjoy it. I guess I was expecting it to be more preachy than anything else. But what I found was a tender love story filled with God's words and the application of those words in the lives of some incredible characters.

When Kyla and Jefferson vowed on their wedding day before God and invited guests to forsake all others and keep only unto each other for as long as they both lived, they never thought that sexual temptation by a close friend would almost destroy their marriage and family. The close friend was none other than Kyla's devoted childhood buddy, Jasmine. Jasmine who felt unlucky at finding true love and happiness in her marriage to high school sweetheart, Kenneth Larson, finally accepts her divorce and sets her sights on the one man she feels can give her the life she so richly deserves -- Kyla's husband, Jefferson Blake.

It seems the only person who is aware of Jasmine's cruel intentions, was Kyla's best friend from college, Alexis Ward. Alexis, a beautiful and successful businesswoman, does everything humanly possible to keep Kyla and Jefferson together despite Jasmine's machinations. When Alexis was not caught up in the lives of her best friends she was battling some pretty strong temptations of her own. She has finally met the 'man of her dreams,' Dr. Brian Lewis. This man brought so much to her life. Still, she found herself facing one of the toughest challenges ever -- how to love, keep, and hold on to this man without compromising her faith and God's will for her life.

Victoria Christopher Murray writes a splendid novel that explores the challenges and victories married and dating singles face when they remain committed to God's word. I also believe she presents us with the fact that Christians are just as vulnerable to worldly temptations as the next person. But it is how they choose to handle those temptations that make all the difference in the world. So is this a book for everyone? Sure it is! It is a novel filled with all the ingredients that makes for an excellent read -- passion, betrayal, true friendship and most of all real love!

Summary: Good over all but...
Review: Spirtually minded readers will enjoy the catharisis of living in the lives of Kyla and Jefferson Blake. The story is real and you can feel the love of the characters for each other. However, Murray's development of the relationship between Alexis and Brian is weak! Perhaps Murray should focus on one relationship in her next effort and colorize the cast of characters that influence the protagonists. We can only invest in one couple per book when that level of drama is being presented.

Summary: Bravo Victoria!
Review: This story kept me on pins and needles the entire time. I wanted the love and relationship of Kyla and Jefferson to be rebuilt and revitalized. Knowing that happy endings are popular and predictable, I still didn't know if Kyla and Jefferson were going to get back together,,,and I won't tell here. I just have to say Thank You, Ms. Victoria for writing a memorable story worth reading. Can't wait for the next one!

Summary: Excellent Christian Fiction
Review: Victoria Murray did a superb job. "Temptation" was well written, and the author keeps the story moving with a suspenseful plot. The reader will not get bored. The characters are interesting and intelligent. Most importantly, we have an opportunity to read a book about contemporary people that deal with today's issues and problems from a Christian perspective. "Temptation" is refreshing and I could not put it down. I'm looking forward to Murray's next effort.

Summary: GREAT BOOK!!
Review: I really enjoyed this book, it represents the many facets of life that person will face. The good, the bad and the ugly! This book lets us know that though we as Christians will face troubles in this life... GOD will bring us out and turn tragedy around for good!
