Summary: Great reading
Review: I couldn't put this book down. I have read most of Kristin Hannah's books and have not been disappointd yet. I usually read a book in 2 days since I travel so much. The way Liam loved Mike was truly touching. He stayed by her side no matter what he found out. It is a must read for all Kristin Hannah readers.

Summary: Heart wrenching and a break from the norm...
Review: This was my first book by Kristin Hannah and I must say that I was shocked and amazed. She has an incredible raw talent that shines in this book. _Angel Falls_ is by no means a conventional "romance" story... infact, I wouldn't even call it that at all. This book is about much more then just romance, it's a story about love and one man's will to survive. Mikaela "Mike" Campbell goes into a coma in the first chapter of the book and things are looking pretty grim for her. All the doctors cannot figure out why she won't wake up. Her husband, Liam, who is dangeously in love with her, is always by her side and her two children are worried sick. One night, a secret long burried is discovered and Mike shows signs of waking up for love- but not for love of her children or husband. For Mike has a secret- an obsession over a selfish man who broke her heart. Will Liam be able to overcome the obsticals thrown at him to put his family back together? Will Mike even wake up? _Angel Falls_ is a nail bitter and a five hanky read. Poor Liam is put through so much, but his love for his wife is so strong that he is willing to do anything for her- even bring back the one man that could destroy everything. The interesting thing about Mikaela's situation is that all these things are being said about her, but she is not there to tell the truth because of her coma. There are many parts where she is made out to be a selfish, conniving woman and because of this, the reader is a little put off by her. Still, Kristin Hannah has amazing power as an author. Her descriptions of Washington's mountains are stunning and will sweep you away to a place where your neighbors live a half a mile away from you. The character developement is stunning. It was not an all time keeper for me because of some of Mike's situation, but I'm breathlessly anticipating another book by Kristin Hannah. Even in books that are not living up to their full potential (as in _Angel Falls_) she is still an incredible writer.

Summary: This book was terrific!!!
Review: "Angel Falls" was one of those stories that simply holds your attention until the end. I felt so sorry for Liam when he discovered "Mike's" secret. She really should have been honest with him in the first place. And I felt even more sorry for Jacey and Brett. Brett had to grow up very fast after Mike's accident. I'm glad the book ended as it did.... ....

Summary: 375 pages of sappy, irritating drivel
Review: This is quite possibly the stupidest book ever written since "Where The Heart Is". Given the choice between reading this and licking a Chicago transient's backside, I highly suggest the latter course of action. Fully given from a feminized point of view, the plot unfolds in expectation that years of a wife lying to her husband should and will be easily forgiven. Highly unrealistic and socially dangerous feminist sentiment abounds in this novel, cover to cover. Men are soulless, accepting drones. Women get away with whatever they choose. Long live the New World Order.

Summary: K.Hannah is one of the BEST!
Review: You can never go wrong with Kristin Hannah. I own every one of her books and read them over and over. This book touches you in the deepest corners of your heart. Hannah understands how to reach an audiance and keep them coming back for more.

Summary: An Enchanting Fairy Tale
Review: Looking for a romantic escape? A modern-day fairy tale layered upon another fairy tale for good measure. The perfect wife and mother, in the perfect little town, has a secret obsession that is discovered by the perfect husband and perfect children as the perfect woman lies in a coma. The scenery is gorgeous, the characters breathe and are well developed - but everything is just a bit "too." While there is some insight into the importance of things, it is all very homogenized and a bit hard to swallow. While faith was a part of this story, it was so cautiously skirted that it might as well not existed. The Danielle Steele of the Soccer Moms, a good escapist read.

Summary: Not her finest effort
Review: Coincidentally, I read ANGEL FALLS consecutively with Barbara Delinsky's COAST ROAD, so maybe it wasn't a fair contrast, but both novels deal with virtually identical themes, a wife/mother who lies unconscious in a hospital. How the women get to the hospital differ, yet that's just a detail; the exploration of the impact of the enormity of their illnesses on their families, and the uncertainty as to whether each woman will survive, are absolutely the same. Delinsky's characters were far more believable and sympathetic--even, in the case of COAST ROAD, the self-absorbed ex-husband. Her characters evolved in response to their crisis. Again in contrast, the most intriguing plot point in ANGEL FALLS, the hidden first marriage of the heroine, could have, should have, been explored with far more information and interest. Fans of Kristin Hannah may be disappointed in this eagerly awaited novel.

Summary: Predictably written
Review: This story's premise is a good one, but it's a bit too "tear-jerky" for me. All of us women would like to have a husband like Liam, but I think he's definately not a living-breathing human male. I have never heard of a man that is that sensitive and romantic and under all circumstances. For those who love a heart-warming romance story, this is the book for them. For me - I need something more realistic.

Summary: Soul gripping love story
Review: I absolutely could NOT put this book down and had to finish it in one day. This is my first read with Kristin Hannah and I found her to be a compelling author. Not only did I cry throughout the entire book, but I also was captured immediately and absorbed thoroughly into the lives of the characters. I was able to "feel" their emotions and pain and their love for one another. I hardly read romance novels, yet when I am compelled to do so, I tend to seek those novels out that are not mushy and gushy, but those that are more realistic and of speak of a true and unrequited love! This is such a book. If you are looking for mush and gush you will not find it here. If you looking for a contemporary and more realistic "love story", this is the book for you!

I found this story to be heart wrenching at times and yet the love and devotion that Dr. Liam Campbell displayed towards his wife during their marriage, is the love that most of us women long for! Sometimes it takes tragedy in one's life to verbally express all those "take-for-granted" things we forget to say to those we love. Liam's love for Mikela is genuine and true, and in fact, so true and deep, that he even searches out Mikela's first husband to help bring Mikela out of her coma and back to her family which adores and loves her.

The reader is gripped by the emotions of her two children, Jacey and Brett and what they are feeling and experiencing. At times you just want to take Brett into your arms and just hug him! The author did an absolutely wonderful job of completely capturing the reader's attention, emotions and heart throughout the entire book. I felt like I was right there, living it all with them. Very few books do this to me.

While Mikela was in the coma as a result of falling off her horse, she "awakened" to the fact that her undying flame of love for her ex-husband was really an obsession and did not and would not stand the test of time. She finally let go of her entrapping pain and misery and saw the real, time-tested love, which Liam has for her and the children. It was the daily devotion of her husband by her bedside as well as their love as a family, which helped bring Mikela out of her coma.

I absolutely loved this book, which tugged at my heartstrings like no other book has. Let yourself be carried away into the lives of the Campbells and you too will feel like you are right there. Have plenty of tissues available and may we all find that time tested love in our lives like Liam has for Mikela!!!

Summary: The most moving story I have ever read!
Review: And that is really saying something. I have read over 450 books since 1997 (I keep track) from all genres, and I have to say that it is a rare find to stay up all night and absorb a story as riveting and poignant as this one. I will treasure it always.
