Summary: The Women of Eden by A.K. Pyatt
Review: This is an excellent, thought-provoking book that forces the reader to look at ageless tales, myths, and parables from altogether new perspectives, and to ask "What if?" with a newly inspired curiosity. I strongly disagree with another, rather mean-spirited, review of this novel. The fact that we are a diverse people, who have--and have the right to--diverse preferences in reading material makes this book--and the possibilities it presents--not simply entertaining, but important. Admittedly, not everyone will be comfortable with the new take on biblical characters, the unique plot twists, or the sexual content, but isn't that part of this book's purpose and value? Don't we expect a book to OPEN our minds, in addition to touching our hearts and transporting us to new places? This is a story that contains themes of validation and renewal for women and men who are unafraid of opening their minds to what MIGHT have been and what still COULD be. Give this author a chance. Give this idea a chance.

Summary: Other thoughts on Bible stories
Review: This is feminist biblical criticism through story. The Bible is originally oral history and told from the patriarchal society's POV. Now women are beginning to tell another story and celebrate goddess/women's spirituality. Great book! Reminiscent of The Red Tent by Anita Diamant.
