Summary: a true gem!
Review: The depth and human-ness of this story, told with such a fresh and bold voice, truly captivated me. With every page I turned, I was astonished and warmed by the skilled storytelling. Either I had been reading too much bad writing, or this little book is pure gold -- and I am disposed toward the latter. Once I had finished reading, I was so excited about it that I e-mailed just about everyone I knew to rave about this gem.Don't even think about whether or not to pick up this little book. DO IT.

Summary: A book to live by
Review: There are only a few things better than reading a book that is entertaining and has lessons to live by; this book was just that. Bertice Berry has simple, thought-provoking sayings throughout her book that take you back to the times spent down south on the porch listening to your elders, with their wisdom and all. She also reminds us in a funny and enjoyable way that our sex lives do not have to be routine or nonexistent because of age or familiarity with our spouse/mate.

Review: We totally enjoyed "Jim and Louella's Homemade Heart-Fix Remedy by Beatrice Berry, and some of us even finished it in one sitting because we couldn't put it down. It had us laughing out laugh and ready to cry in the next minute. Loved the bond between Jim and Louella after 26 years of marriage, and the fact that they were willing to take steps to re-ignite their passion for each other. And did they ever!!! A good short, easy read, sexy and scintillating.

Review: You never know what to expect from writer Bertice Berry. Jim and Louella's Homeade Heart-Fix Remedy is evidence that Ms. Berry is not a "cookie-cutter" writer. This is a special book in which the characters come to life in their love and life situations. I enjoyed the connection between Louella and the spirit of her mother, aunt and grandmother! There is definitely a lesson in "hearing" the wisdom words of those before us. I would recommend this title to not only those readers over 50, but those under 50 as well. Jim and Louella know what to do and how to do what is needed! Well done, Ms. Berry! -LC
