Summary: A story about a mom of all moms
Review: The main character of Single Mom is not only just a mother of her two sons. But she also has to be the one true mature parent since her fathers of her two sons won't. Then with the sudden wave of black men wanting to take on the responsibility that they should have done in the first place. Denise must deal with a teenage love that wants desperately to get back into his son's life and a college fling who wants custody of son just to show his over-bearing parents that he is truly an adult. I applaud Denise Stewart on keeping her head above water and find a "real man" to help raise her children.

Summary: single mom
Review: This book was truely a good book for all the single mothers out there struggling to keep there kids together without the father or fathers around.Eventhough Iam not a mother i know that my mother struggled herself just to make her kids successful so this book is for all the strong women out there trying to do the right thing.

Summary: A wonderful story...
Review: I absolutely loved this book. And I finished it just in time to pass it on to my daddy for Father's Day. It's a great story for everyone who has kids (married, single, dating, or whatever). Omar did a great job on this one.

Keep up the good work Tyree!

Summary: An Excellent Read!
Review: I read this book a few months back. I found it very good. This is the second book I have read by Omar Tyree. The first was Flyy Girl, which I found entirely too sophmoric. Flyy Girl was a good read for a teen in high school. Single Mom was an excellent read for a sho'nuff grown up! I found the character of Brock to be a strong one, and Walter was truly a momma's boy. When I was a single mom, I would have loved to meet a Brock! However, when it came down to the wire, both men, to the best of their abilities, came through for their sons. For the most part I liked Denise. Having been a single mom at one time, I could identify. All in all, I would have to say that I am more open to reading books by this author than I was after reading his first effort. It is obvious that as he matures, so does his subject matter. And that is, after all, the way life is!

Summary: I Can Identify
Review: I must say this book does an accurate account of Single Mom's and the trials, tribulations and struggles they have to go through. I am the daughter of a Single Mom and watching all my mother went through sacraficing for me, makes a single mother a little bitter sometimes, because they do it all with no help. That is not to say that all single mothers are bitter, just that you can understand where it comes from in our Main Female Character Denise's case. I can understand the characters in this book because I live it from the child's perspective. I think this was a great book and well worth reading.

Summary: A Good Read!
Review: This book was a good read and very relevant to today. I enjoyed it immensely. Every "single mom" should read this book and be encouraged to get things going in your life just like the character, Denise. Way to Go, Omar!

Summary: Single Mom
Review: First of all I am just like Denise, only I have one child and I too am a professional woman. I thought that this book was lacking. I couldn't finish this one. I have read all of his books this is the only one that I just plain didn't like. I will continue to buy his books. better luck next time.

Summary: Slow but oh soo good!
Review: No, this was not especially a fast read but when it did pick up, oh did it! For me, this was truly a book of lessons. A book that I would gladly recommend to all single moms doing it alone, for any woman who felt there weren't any good men left, and for all black men wanting to learn the importance of fatherhood. I applaud you Omar for illustrating these lessons so clearly.

Summary: Single Mom
Review: This was a good book, but I thought a different ending would have been possible.

As a Single Mom, I saw a lot of myself in the book and would suggest it for other single mom's as leisure reading.

Summary: Single mom tells it like it is
Review: I just finished reading Single Mom. I must say that I enjoyed reading this book. At first I didn't think I would like it because there were too many story lines, but the more I read, the more the book held my interest. I believe Omar Tyree did an excellent job on this book.

I am also a single mom (of 1) and grew up in the inner city (NYC). I understand the trials and tribulations that many women face, especially those who are not privileged by society. I have since left the inner city (14 years ago) and have made a better life for myself. Enough about me, enjoy the book. It is definitely worth reading.
