Rating: Summary: Excellent! Review: Jacquelin Thomas returns to the Christian Fiction arena with her sophomore release of The Prodigal Husband. It's is a touching story of a couple whose life is in turmoil, but they find forgiveness, love, and the power of trusting God in any situation.Jake and Tori's story is real and you could feel their suffering and their pain. I was so happy that Jake realized that God will never leave us or forsake us. Forgiveness is a big issue for a lot of people and I applauded Tori's effort. Her journey toward forgiving her husband was tough, but she depended on the Lord to help her get to that place in her spiritual journey. The secondary characters were great. I think Shepard and Charlene have a story to tell themselves. I loved Aunt Kate, she cracked me up. Then there is Ms. Sheila,(the devil) to stir up the pot. She has some issues I think she could probably resolve in her own book. Jacquelin Thomas is an excellent writer. All of her Romantic Fiction works have been great. She creates believable characters and stories. She is also emerging as a front runner of the Inspirational or Christian Fiction markets. I'm sure we'll see more extraordinary works from this writer. Great Story Ms. Jacquie!
Rating: Summary: Will love survive? Review: Tori Madison is falling apart. She experiences a major tragedy and to make matters worse, she discovers that her husband Jake has broken their marriage vows. Jake has slept with Sheila, his business partner and a woman Tori considered to be her friend. Tori is heartbroken over Jake's indiscretion, but she is not willing to give up her marriage. She is very dependent on her husband and the prospect of living without him frightens her. Despite some major obstacles, Tori is determined to do whatever she has to do for her husband's love. Sheila is determined to keep Jake for herself and she does not care who or what gets in her way. She feels that she and Jake were meant to be and that Tori is nothing but an inconvience. The Prodigal Husband by Jacquelin Thomas is an emotional and spiritual story that has you rooting for some of the characters in the story. The spirituality shown in Tori's character draws you in and keeps the pages of the book turning. There are however some situations in the book that I considered unrealistic, but overall I liked the flow of the story and the story itself. Reviewed by Simone A. Hawks

Rating: Summary: What's a woman to do? Review: I thought that Jacquelin Thomas portrayed an accurate view of the plight of the black man & subsequently the black woman. Jake had severe issues and could only focus on that, while his wife was left to grieve & suffer alone. There is a great lesson to be learned from this book. Jake finally realized that he was lost without Christ. He had an emptiness that only God could fill. His wife and mother & family could not do it for him. When he found The Lord then everything began to come together. Tori displayed great strength when faced with adversity. She didn't let it show when she was in public & handled her 'business' when it was necessary. She also came to her own while abandoned by her husband & would not let herself revert back to the 'old way' when he returned. He had to accept her for who she had become. I was truly pleased with how it ended. Great work Jacquelin!
Rating: Summary: You Will Grow Spiritually and Feel Refreshed Review: Jacquelin Thomas has created a spiritually enriching novel. The main characters Jake and Tori are faced with turmoil in their marriage. Distrust and insecurity is tap-dancing on both Jake's and Tori's heart throughout the marriage. Jake finds he is not strong enough to handle the tragedy he and Tori are faced with, so he takes the easiest way out. Tori find through the tragedy she is a woman with needs, desires, intelligence and perseverance. With a spiritually powerful faith she is able to endure. But the question becomes, is she willing to fight Sheila for her husband? Nicholas is a true friend to Tori, but some may look at it as more. Then there's Charlene and Shepard. A couple destined to be united in matrimony. But, there's a secret that Charlene has been carrying since their college years. Did Charlene deceive Shepard, or was it he giving her mixed messages? With stimulating women such as Aunt Kate, Gwendolyn Madison, and Linda Samuel-Dawson who are filled with the urgency of God in one's life. These women and men can't go wrong. You will find that you are not just reading along as the characters are praying throughout the novel, but you will be praying with them. You will feel God's presence during the entire story. Chills will relish your body as God work through all of their lives. But, most of all you will come to learn how to "let go and let God." Tonya Howard
Rating: Summary: Great Christian Fiction! Review: I recently met the author at the Word's Escape Me Summit in Birmingham, AL. She gave me an advance copy of The Prodical Husband. I just wanted to let her and amazon readers know that I think she has a winner! It was nice seeing things through Tori's eyes and following her through the process of forgiveness. It seems to me that the author could tell a few other stories about some of the secondary characters in the book. Shepard sounds like an interesting man. I am sure he and Charlene have an interesting story. I was also intriqued with Aunt Kate. Her secret should make an interesting tale too. Somehow I get the feeling that Shelia isn't finished either. Jake better watch his back! Anyway, Jacquelin Thomas is one of my favorite authors in the Romance genre and she is quickly becoming a favorite of mine in inspirational fiction. Ms. Thomas, you are very gifted at what you do. I look forward to reading many more of your novels. Keep up the great work!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Unrealistic, I Know, Its Fiction Review: I really did not enjoy this book. It made no sense. He had an affair with his partner, wife catches, wife leaves, takes the baby, he begs her to come back, she says no, he snatches the daughter, gets hit by a drunk driver, baby dies, he wimps out and disappears not even bothering to go to his daughter's funeral and disappears for over a year. Meanwhile his wife is at home praying for his safe return and to work out their problems so they can stay together. He comes home, they are working on their relationship even though he is still working with the partner he occasionally slept with, and she is seeing a friend/he may be a date in the future. My problem is the whole scenario is unrealistic. It seems to me they were both dysfunctional and the book made me more angrily that interested. Who would want to be married to such a wimp? What woman would just stand by as her husband continues to associate with the woman he had an affair with. For Tori to become herself she had to shed the whole skin, meaning clothes and go sexy, but she's constantly praying with her new sexy imagine. I know its fiction, but at least make it believable.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Book Review: This was an awesome book. This book dealt with realistic issues that occur within a marriage yet it showed the power to overcome obstacles if you put Christ first. This is a well recommended book for anyone who loves Christian fiction.
Rating: Summary: About To Lose My Job Trying To Finish This One Review: Never have I given a book review, but I couldn't help myself with this one. This was one of my first Christian Fiction books and I'm very pleased. The characters were real and where there were instances of prayer and/or God being mentioned, it was always right on time. Everything about this book was excellent. Any intimate scenes were very clean and left much to the imagination--all things were done in excellent taste.
Truly praying that Ms. Thomas will make a sequel to the book. I would love to know what happens to the "evil one" Sheila. The child required serious mental therapy. Well, I won't spoil the fun for the reader, but I highly recommend this book. I began it on a Wednesday and was finished by Friday.
Can't wait to dig my chops into this author's next book.
Rating: Summary: The Prodigal Husband Review: This book came at an appointed time in my life. I was able to relate to the characters and the situations as if it were myself, because it was/is me. My marriage has seen the many sorrows that both Jake and Tori's saw. Ms. Thomas brought me into this book, to see the promises that God gives to those who seek him.
