Summary: A WONDERFULLY SUPERB BOOK!
Review: Steel is at her best again. Faye is a woman with five children all of who are extremley different from one another. Her husband seems to take off everytime a problem arises.Faye is determined to love her children unconditionally even when she learns that her oldest son is gay. This book will take you through the ups and downs of life and how this family deals with their problems. It teaches you a lesson about life, not to give up when the going gets tough. So sit back and enjoy your ride.

Summary: good ideas but wirtten in a hurry
Review: The book has a basically good plot and the characters are really brought to life, but it's written in an extremely simple, poor, sometimes even boring style. Very black-and-white, superficial, and that's a pity because it could have been a far better book with some more care and time.

Summary: It is a book for women
Review: This is a book that shows women's strength. DS manages to do that in most of her books though. She takes you down a path & you feel as if you've lived it, even though it can be tough and sad. You are so happy when things go right...
Set aside some time to read this book. As several of her books do, they start out a little slow, but pick up after the first 50 pages, where she uses to describe the people & places.

Summary: A outstanding emotional drama......
Review: This is probably the best book of its genre that ive ever read in a long time. Ive discovered the book because of my interest with actress Jaclyn Smith when she played the lead role in the tv-miniseries version of the book. It's well written and the characters are full of life, passion, love and emotion. The gay son's character is closest to reality --no over drama into it and i can relate to that. Read the book because it's worth getting there. 5 stars!

Summary: YUCK! of an otherwise fine story.....
Review: This story is simply about a typical family, with some extraordinarly lives and careers, but typical family problems. Each and every person in this family creates their own conflict, and bonds the family into something bigger and stronger. I loved the movie for this story, but I loved the book more... of course! Each member does something to test the love of the entire family unit, and the results are extraordinary! Anyone from a big family, will love this one!!

Summary: Nice
Review: This was a nice book. Not one of Steel's best. That would be Daddy. But this one was a nice study of a family of beatiful yet slightly dysfunctional members. Held together by love in the end.
