Rating: Summary: Two words to describe this book....... Review: I enjoy Barbara Taylor Bradford`s books immensely and this one is no exception. Anya the mentor to these girls, made me wish I had a special person like that in my life. I have only two words to describe this book, it is "purely feminine!"
Rating: Summary: Great plot about friendship and love...... Review: I enjoyed both the main plot and the sub-plots. But as usual, with a BTB book, it was the characters that captivated me. I adored Anya....a gracious, elderly lady, with a zest for life and a true understanding of both life and love. I felt the plot concerning the estranged friendship was very true to life....many times, female friendships fall apart over something so petty the actual cause is long forgotten. Having been to Paris more times than I can count, I loved being transported back there from my sofa. Once again I walked the streets Barbara mentions and dined in the restaurants I remember so well. She is very authentic in her descriptions of my beloved Paris. I highly recommend this book, so do yourself a favor....order it and escape to Paris and a great story.
Rating: Summary: A Quiet Paris Review: I enjoyed the characters, going back to Paris and wondering just where Ms. Taylor was going with their lives. It was not however one of her best works. I did like the fact that she had her heroines come full circle at the end.
Rating: Summary: Not your usual romance novel Review: I found this book to be a good realistic read and very difficult to put down. I've never had much patience for "formula" romances, but I don't like depressing so-called womens' fiction either. Ms Taylor-Bradford struck the perfect balance in this book!
Rating: Summary: contrived and predictable Review: I have never read one of Bradford's books before but this one called to me from the shelves. It was a story I was eager to read. By the time I was into chapter 4, I was embarrassed to tell people I had purchased it. The conversations sounded like horrible soap operas: pathetic and overly-detailed compliments. The reason for the characters' fight was weak and all actions were pre-determined. I wouldn't read any more of her books. Don't even think about this book.

Rating: Summary: What a disappointment! Review: I have read all of Ms. Bradford's books; and enjoyed most of them. I had to try to keep from nodding off while reading this one. I would have liked to learn more about each of the characters; and less about the "lovely" Paris. There just was not the substance to this book that I expected from this author. Reading about room appointments and descriptions of homes and places I can get from any decorating or travel book. A good story line is what fiction is all about. I will be cautious about the next book by Ms. Bradford.
Rating: Summary: 1st Impression Review: I heard about the acclaimed Ms. Bradford, so I ordered Three Weeks in Paris. The premise looked interesting, especially being a part of a four woman friendship. Unfortunately, this first impression was not IMPRESSIVE! I enjoyed the introductions of each main character (four girlfriends), but then she delved into Russian and French history, as well as descriptions of every fabric and color of a room. I am well aware of the women's success in the fashion industry, but I do believe she should have come up with a more creative reason for the four women to have quarreled. After finding out why they did not speak for all those years, I almost put the book back in my wall unit, never to be read again! At times, I found myself skimming over pages, to get to the good part. It never came. I am very disappointed and probably won't give Ms. Bradford a second glance at Borders. I tried.
Rating: Summary: A Great Escape Review: If good books are supposed to transport us from our ordinary lives to someplace worthwhile, then Three Weeks In Paris in as good as they get! You have got to hand it to BTB for coming up with great story after great story with memeroble characters and wonderful locations. In this case, Barbara selects Paris as a backdrop and creates a mystery, an old feud and three love stories as the plot. It's not brain surgery, but its complelling story telling. This is the perfect page turner for anyone looking to escape the doldrums. And its even better at a paperback price! One of Barbara's best books in years!
Rating: Summary: Three Weeks in Paris Review: One of the most delightful books I have read in a long time. If you want to escape the daily stress and pressures of your busy life, by all means, read this book. I could not put it down. The plot is fairly simple, the characters memorable. An enjoyable, easy read as you curl up in your favorite chair on a rainy weekend, or stretch out on your lounge chair in the sun in your backyard.
