Rating: Summary: The bomb!!! Review: All, I can say is WOW! Jude if you can hear me, you won my heart in the authors circle. This book has it all, from laughter to tears. I hope you write some more on the past-life basis. My all-time favourite book just above 'Knight in Shining Armour'.
Rating: Summary: Oh la la! Review: Wow, what can I say? I'm speechless. Rememberence was actually the first romance I have ever read, and I'm glad I did. I always thought that romances were corny and for women who can't get a guy and have to turn to books for their love fantasies, until my friend handed me the book and practically threatened me to read it. I was a little wary at first, but after the first couple chapters I was quickly drawn into the story and I couldn't put it down! Thus, changing my opinion of romances forevor! I actually read them now, and Jude is my favorite author. Anyway, read the book! Trust me, you won't regret it!
Rating: Summary: Too convoluted; too many characters Review: I was surprised that this book received so many positive reviews. When I read it years ago, I was expecting A Knight in Shining Armor. Was I ever disappointed! The major flaw of this book is that there were too many characters to care about. There was the writer and her mystery man, the Edwardian couple, and Talis and Callie (who should have been given a book of their own, not used as background to another couple's story). I love time-travel stories, but I found the past lives plot device to be silly. The idea that Hayden -- the modern heroine -- would automatically despise the man she was destined for unless she could sort out her past lives was stupid. And although I'm sure Ms. Deveraux meant it to be romantic, I found it ridiculous that the heroes and heroines were all fated to die within the same hour of each other. I am a total non-feminist, but I find it distasteful that any couple would be so wrapped up in each other that they couldn't survive without each other. There were parts in Remembrance that were entertaining, but all in all, I think Jude should have focused on just one couple (preferably either Talis and Callie, or Hayden and her mystery man), developed the time-travel plot, and cut the past lives business. It would have made a much cleaner, more understandable novel.
Rating: Summary: Soulmates Review: If you are looking for a beautiful story that takes your heart into its pages, then read Rememberance. I am a big time believer in the opinion that everyone has a soulmate. When I ready this story, it gave me hope and also made me cry at the same time. Jude Devereaux is already a great writer with great stories, but this one will always be my favorite novel of all time. I hope whoever reads this will agree with me.
Rating: Summary: J.D's BEST BOOK EVER, MY PERSONAL FAVORITE!!!!!!!! Review: After reading Remembrance, Jude Deverereux earned her place as my favorite Romance author. I recommend this book to anybody who is an avid romance reader. Jude uses three interweaving plots that keeps the book going and going. I couldn't put it down! Have the Kleenex handy though, it's a tear jerker!
Rating: Summary: A wonderful tale about love and past life. Review: Like all of the other Jude Deveraux books, I love this one too, but not as much as "Knight in Shining Armor." Although, this book is right underneath it. At times I got either all teary-eyed, or a nice warm lovely felling, or laughed a lot, for this book has it all. I enjoyed reading about the characters and the lives they lived. I didn't give this book five stars becasue to me, the ending wasn't good enough. I loved the whole fact she found love, but then again, it seemed like Deveraux just jammed everything into the last two pages. But I still love this book! ^_~
Rating: Summary: Fascinating story -- overlong in places Review: This book's premise, plot, and characters were all wonderfully thought out, and fascinating. I found the characters very endearing and believable -- real people with foibles that I could relate to! The jumps between time periods and the portrayal of the same essential characters with three different backgrounds and settings were intriguing, as were the insights from Ms. Deveraux on the lives and feelings of modern romance writers. However, I can't give the book that fifth star because parts of the book through the middle subplot, the telling of Talis's and Callie's childhood experiences, seemed too long-winded. I know that the background of the curses affecting their lives throughout time was necessary information, I just felt that this section of the book seemed repetitive and could have been condensed a bit more to keep the pace from dragging.
Rating: Summary: An enjoyable book. Review: I thought this was one of Jude's best books! It was like a mix of herself and her books. I really enjoyed all the time travel and past lives. Jude always does a good job of everything, I esspecially enjoy how all of the clothes are explained. The ending was a bit of a disapointment to me, but other than that it was an all around wonderful book!
Rating: Summary: What a neat book!!! Review: This was the first J.D. book I read, and I was hooked. I can't stop reading her books!! This was a totally engrossing story which drew me in from the very first page. I loved Hayden, and I loved the research she goes through to try to find her past selves. It was intriguing. I actually began to consider the possibility of past lives, although I've always thought that was ridiculous. J.D. is a very real author, and you feel the emotions of her characters! Keep writing great books, Jude!! I love your stories!!
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Deveraux' best book Review: Remembrance was my introduction to Jude Deveraux' books. I absoutely loved it, couldn't put it down and cried my eyes out, towards the end of the story. After reading this I immediately bought a couple of her other books, but they didn't match up with the quality of Remembrance. Even Knight in Shining Armor didn't work for me. Remembrance is her only book I ever recommended to my friends, most of them not at all Romance readers, but this one is just more than a nice story. It is a must-read for everybody !
