Rating: Summary: OMG! Fabulous! Review: I was recomended this book a thousand times over and finally sat down to read it. The first part made me laugh, the second part made me worry (in a delightful way!) and the middle part touched my heart! This wonderful book has something for everyone. I even recommended it to my mother who is not a big romance fan... She LOVED it! It has been a long time since I was so moved by such a beautiful story. This book will make you laugh and OH YES cry. A great read and one of my all time fav's!
Rating: Summary: Excellent fairy tale! Review: "Kelly" did such a great job in her review that I really don't have too much to add. This book is a rule breaker for me because - #1) I don't usually like time travel novels and #2) I HATE stories that are sad & weepy. "Remembrance" is both. But, I have to say that I love this book. Hayden is a romance writer who wonders if she will ever find true love. She then goes on a quest to discover exactly what has happened in her past lives to prevent her from finding love in this one. The part of this book that really got my attention and my emotions involved; was the story of Talis and Callesandra. Their tragic story is the primary focus of this book, and I have to say that I HATED the end of their story. I know that their love story continues on through the other characters in the book, but I wanted THEM (I am whining here) to be together! I read romance novels to sigh, smile, and to step out of reality for just a few minutes to experience romantic relationships without all sweat and effort. I do not want to weep and mourn in my escape reading, however, as I said, this novel was the exception to the rule.
Rating: Summary: Beautiful and Moving Review: This book explores the possibility of past lives and soulmates. It does so by exploring two of the past lives of Hayden Lane, a successful yet lonely romance writer. Her personality is charming. The irony when she talks about romance writers, readers, and critics is enough to make you laugh out loud. Ms. Deveraux used this character to get her punches in! When Hayden Lane is hypnotized, she goes back in time and inhabits the bodies of two of her past selves. The actions of these two women, the circumstances of their failed love is why she is so unhappy in her present day self. Can changing the past change her luck in the future? A beautiful and moving tearjerker of a novel explores that possibility. The novel is wonderfully written. The soulmate principle is written with care, and the characters are thoroughly explored. However, don't be surprised. A majority of the novel is spent with the main character as a young girl growing up in Elizabethan England. This book centers on romantic notions, not much romance.
Rating: Summary: FANTASTIC! Review: This was my very first Jude Deveraux novel and I got quite a surprise when I read it...It was definitely a memorable novel because the characters were so touching and it left you wishing for your very own Talis. I guarantee all romance readers will enjoy it!
Rating: Summary: If only our loves could be so true... Review: This is one of my all-time favorite books. Sure, it's low in the sex department, but with a plot like this, who needs it? Not often does a romance book touch into one of my hobbies - or addiction - of past lives and lost love, and this one takes the cake. I can read this one again and again and never get tired of it. Truly a romance to make you cry.
Rating: Summary: Touching Romance Review: I truly enjoyed this story. It was almost a Romeo and Juliet type of story. I love time travel novels. This was so very touching and romantic. The Talis and Callie storyline was especially moving. It touched my heart. Love Jude Deveraux!!!
Rating: Summary: my favorite without question Review: I had my doubts, after reading numerous "time travel" romances, that anything new could be introduced, so it was a wonderful surprise to find myself, laughing, crying and loving the wonderful characters portrayed. I cannot say enough about Deveraux's amazing ability to bring her story to life, describing the world around the characters perfectly, without boring the reader. REMEMBRANCE has touched my heart and will always have a treasured place on my bookshelf.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful! Review: This was the first Jude Deveraux book I had read and it is what got me hooked. The storyline was excellent, the characters believable, and the feeling in it incredible. This book was so touching that I cried at the end. It was refreshing to see such feeling in a book. I highly recommend this book.
Rating: Summary: Remembrance Review: I LOVED THIS BOOK! I have all Jude's book, but this is the best! I have read it many times and never get through without crying again. I couldn't put it down it was so wonderful. The characters draw you in and you don't want to do anything but read until the end. Jude is the best! If you love time travel this is your book!
Rating: Summary: Remembrance.....touching and delightful! Review: After reading "Legend", I searched for another time travel romance written by Deveraux. Although "Remembrance" wasn't quite the same, I still enjoyed the book. The concept of 'soulmates' has always intrigued me. Deveraux has the intelligence and the stanima to make even the weakest believer believe. This story of a modern woman trying to regain a love she has lost in a past life is touching. Some may say the ending, even the beginning, was weak, but I think it was just right. My hat's off to Deveraux who did a fine job, once again, with time travel. I would read anything she writes involving the subject!
