Rating: Summary: Once you start, you will not be able to stop till it ends Review: This is simply a must read, it is fascinating and will hold you captive from the begining till the very end. Being a Shakespare fan made it even more enjoyable for me I strongly recommend this book to all book lovers, believe me, you will not be let down.
Rating: Summary: Talk about skeletons!!!! Review: Whewwwww...... A friend at work gave me this book to read and told me she had finished it overnight. She wouldn't give me even the slightest hint on what the book was about. I received the book from her on Friday and handed it back to her on Saturday with the same feeling of incredulous that she had related the day before. It is hard to say what it is about because it is about a little of everything. :) Excellent read and I am recommending it to all my fellow reading friends. My hat goes off to you Ms. Lolita..... you go girl!!!!
Rating: Summary: Spellbound Review: This book will have you in a trance. You will walk around trying to cook, clean, whatever and read the book at the same time. I passed the book along to my sister who doesn't read much, but she loved it. It is a modern day tale on an old Shakespeare novel. Don't think twice, you won't be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: MAGNIFICANT WRITING Review: Loita Files has delivered an extrodinary novel. The characters were complex and simple all at the same time. The novel brought out a ranging of emotions from me such as sadness, anger, and compassion for the characters. Child of God is Ms. Files best novel to date. I enjoyed the book so much that I recommended it as the selection of the month for my book club(cushcity.com).
Rating: Summary: Outstanding! Review: Lolita Files best work to date. The Boten Family makes you think about your own family secrets.....What an outstanding book...It leaves you speechless!
Rating: Summary: whoa!!!! Review: To be honest, I never really got into this authors' other books, but this one was a page turner! It's a shame of the life that some people have to live because of family secrets. However, this was a good read, and definately one to pass along. I am sure that many book clubs would enjoy this one for their book of the month.
Rating: Summary: Refreshing, briming with intellect and empathy,Rewarding Review: I was deeply impressed by the literary knowledge and use of alliteration that was used by Ms. Files. She really weaved a good story and it left me questioning blanks in my family history. The idea she took the names of one of Shakespeares much loved by me plays meant a lot. I like that fact that Ophelia was such a rounded out character not just a fool as she was portrayed by Shakespeare. Ms. Files added soul, and meat to the character and all the other characters that were only names. I hope that Ms. Files will write another good novel soon. This was so different and really let me see another side of her gift.
Rating: Summary: Lolita went DEEEEEEEEP Review: WOW!!!! I can't believe the way that book had me thinking. It was awesome. Lolita...you are so versatile. I have read all of her books and I can't pick a favorite. WOW!
Rating: Summary: Best book in a long time Review: This book is so different from the others that Ms. Files wrote. I hope she stays on the path in which she wrote Child of God. I could not put it down I love the way she tied in voodoo and Shakespeare. I was truly sad when the book ended because I wanted it to go on. Ms. Files is a very good writer.
Rating: Summary: Highyly Intelligent & Courageous! Review: For the first time in a long time I had to pick up a dictionary on several occasions to make sure through Ms. Files chosen words, I was getting the essence of the story. I didn't want to miss one morsel of information that she packed into every paragraph. The courage it took to tell a story that exists on some level in many families that few are willing to reveal was incredible. I was on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. Ms. Files is an awesome writer. It is the story of a family passing devastating and destructive behavior from one generation to the next until one person learns to accept themselves, the truth and accepts the courage to break the cycle. Well done, Ms. Files, well done!
