Rating: Summary: Cinematic and Exciting Review: "The Hamptons" is an entertaining cinematic read by best-selling author Linda Dominique Grosvenor. The story is about Joelle Sinclair, she is recently divorced and leaves the hustle and bustle of her New York City lifestyle behind to head to The Hamptons for some R&R with her sister when she finds just what she isn't looking for--a new man.Joelle is very modern and cautious woman (she even orders a background check for her new suitor). She has many motivations and very high self esteem. Joelle is agressive at times and she knows what she wants and she goes for hers (even in the bedroom). Joelle will draw you into her stylish and complex world..she is a woman that some men would consider difficult and high maintenance but women will consider her a sister who has her act together and knows what she wants. You can't help but to root for her. I enjoyed this book and it is something that I could definitly see on the big screen! I liked the fact that the author mentioned a lot of designers I hadn't heard of, it sent me to the Internet to do research on high fashion for a gal that shops at Wet Seal, Gap and Fashion Cents :)
Rating: Summary: A Refreshing Summer Read Review: Linda Dominique Grosvenor is back with a refreshing and delightful new novel-THE HAMPTONS. Joelle Sinclair, newly divorced from a cheating ex-husband, decides with her newfound independence she needs a change of scenery. She packs up her bags and moves into her sister's (Stephanie) summer home in the Hamptons. Thanks to a generous divorce settlement, finances are one thing she'll never have to worry about. Besides shopping, Joelle's other passion is art. With her impressive credentials, it doesn't take her long to find a job at a local art gallery. While lounging on the beach, relaxing and reading, Joelle's solitude is interrupted by a handsome and alluring man--Jabari Mitchell. Jabari has a knack for showing up unexpected. Once he keys in on Joelle, he vows to break down her resistance by any means necessary. Joelle has doubts about dating, let along having an intimate relationship. With Stephanie's encouragement, she contemplates on pursuing a casual relationship with Jabari. Will Jabari be all he appears to be: romantic, loyal, and honest or is he like her ex-husband-a liar and cheater? Ms. Grosvenor has a way of captivating her audience and throwing in a few surprises along the way. THE HAMPTONS is a well-rounded entertaining novel complete with romance and an added dosage of suspense.
Rating: Summary: Get on the Waiting List for This Book! Rebecca Shepard, AMAG Review: This book was a lightening bolt of revelation! In the world of the rich, even the wealthy and intelligent are not immune to trickery, but the strength of the sister's love was a breath of fresh air. It shows how women are indeed each other's strength.
