Summary: Too Many Issues
Review: This book was hard to read. It went from one drama to the next. The ending was incomplete because we didn't find out what Zuma's future plans were and Sandy wasn't arrested for leaving her kids in the house alone.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: You should always count your blessings
Review: This is a must read for everyone. This book goes to show people to be thankful for what you have and don't worry about what you don't have.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Good Summer Read, Entertaining, and Highly Recommended
Review: This is by far my favorite book by Ms. Jackson. I thought the reading was entertaining and involving so that one could finish in one sitting. The characters were well developed to the point that you either sympathized with her--Faye; thought about things you had done in your immature youth that years later still haunted you via Zuma; realized heartaches and pains through r Pat; and you just wanted to slap the heck out of Sandy. Good sister bonding book, and a great selection for a book club. The only disappointment was the last two chapters--because so much was accomplished that it became very unrealistic that is for everyone except Zuma who still had not realized her dream.

Keep them coming Ms. Jackson and Terry McMillan move over.

Summary: A Blessing can be in Disguise
Review: "Blessings" being the name of a beauty shop sure had it's way in four women lives. They all had some type of dramatic experience going on each day once they were away from the beauty shop. It's like they needed to come to the shop just to get away from their everyday lives of trials & tribulation. I liked how the four women made such a "DYNAMIC DUO" despite the fact three were black & one was WHITE!! Sandy's burden was definitelty Pat's BLESSING !! Sheneska girl YOU DID IT AGAIN !

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: a little too soft, but entertaining
Review: This book kept me interested beginning to end. All of the characters were interesting people with some serious issues in their lives. I was happy with the way everyone's drama played out except for Sandy's. I was very annoyed with the the fact that she was not truly made accountable for what she did throughout the book. I think the author showed "acceptance" of Sandy's behavior by not imposing serious punsihment! Otherwise, Faye was my favorite character as she was the most selfless and real. It was a nice adventure into 4 women's lives.

Summary: Sheneska you can do much better!
Review: This book could have been done better. It was way over the top with the mama-drama. The concept was great but some of the melodramatic stuff can be calmed down, greatly. The novel itself could be reduced because some things seem at bit unrealistic.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Sheneska U can do better
Review: I LOVE Sheneska and "Lil Mama's Rules" is my all-time favorite book (I laughed, cried, and sighed), but "Blessings" left me disappointed. It didn't even seem like it was written by my girl. It just didn't pull me in and there was TOO much of OJ. When I finally struggled to the end, it was not satisfying. Sheneska is still my favorite and a very talented sista, and I can't WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE! Also someone please turn "L'il Mama's Rules" into a movie!!!!!!

Summary: WHAT A STORY!!!!!!!!!
Review: THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH STARS TO RATE THIS BOOK!

I have read all of Sheneska's work and while she did one heck of a job on her previous titles, Blessings gets a real "high five". Her characters in Blessings are so well developed one has to wonder how the author could put 4 very different ladies together to make such a rich and entertaining story. I guess that's called "talent".

While reading this book, you are actually sitting in a chair watching the scenes unravel right before your eyes. You'll laugh and you'll cry and you'll find yourself shaking your head at the end because you run out of pages to read.

Sheneska does an excellent job at proving that everyone has something to offer to one another, one way or the other through friendships and blessings!!!!!!!

For those of you who have never read anything by this author, pick this one up and be prepared for one breathtaking story.

When you finish with the book, you'll understand that this author has some very real skills in fiction writing and you'll patiently await her fourth novel (I know I am).

Summary: EXCELLENT READ MS. JACKSON
Review: BLESSINGS WAS EXCELLENT. IT WAS THE FIRST TIME READING ANY OF SHANESKA'S WORK AND WILL DEFINITELY GO BUY THE OTHERS. PAT, FAYE, ZUMA AND SANDY HAD SOME REAL BEAUTY SHOP DRAMA GOING ON. I COULD HAVE DONE WITHOUT ALL THE OJ IN BEGINNING BUT THE REST OF THE BOOK MORE THAN MADE UP FOR THAT. KEEP UP THE EXCELLENT WORK!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: this book was a-typical
Review: I knew what the author was trying to convey but never really got the point across. The book went around in circles and jumped from subject to subject, the ending could have been better.Too much drama!!!
