Rating: Summary: Extraordinary Work Review: This is the first book I have read by Ms. Jackson but I am hooked. The characters were so real that I found myself laughing out loud about Zuma's responses to the others in the shop. Ms. Jackson has a true fan here in Fort Walton Beach, Florida
Rating: Summary: A very good book! Review: I put this book to the side because I thought it was about just a beauty shop and I lost some interest. It came with perfect timing. I just got married and had a baby. Each woman had a story that I could relate to except Sandy. I think Sandy had a lot issues that resulted from her relationship with her mother and she should have been punished for what she did. She totally got away with murder (literally!). However, I can relate to Pat, Faye and Zuma, I have a wonderful marriage to a great man, I have a child that I love more than anything and I want to have a child before I turned 30. Sheneska did a really good job with helping you to see the emotion that each woman was feeling. I felt for all the women and they had real life issues. This book should be read by every woman, because we all can relate in some form or another and we all need to get our hair done! I highly recommend this book for anyone that it is looking for a meaningful read.
Rating: Summary: Bravo! Review: You go girl! Shaneska has done it again. This book is a must read. I could not put it down. Shaneska's books keep on getting better and better. The plot it phenomenal! Buy this book!(hard back! come on people!) You will not be disapointed.
Rating: Summary: This Book Is A Must Have Review: Every women can definitly relate to this book. This book makes you feel all the problems the characters go through. Not to mention all the situations that they went through were real. I don't know not one women who did not go through any of the four situations that went down in the story. It is a definite must have.
Rating: Summary: A book all women can relate to. Review: This book is a great story. It is a book all women can relate to. The book was written in everyday vernacular. All the situations are very real it is like you can actually feel the what the women are going through. This book is a definite must have.
Rating: Summary: THIS BOOK IS TRULY A BLESSING Review: I loved this book because it was set around a setting that is so familiar to me and other women. This book is so good because it takes real life and puts it into perspective. I feel in love with each of the characters. I felt their pains and their joys. This book made me feel like I was right there with them. YOU HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK.
Rating: Summary: Refreshing Review: I happen to own this particular book and have read it twice. The book was excellent. The research was thoughful in the sense that it really captured the essence of what goes on in a beauty salon, whether it be black or white oriented
Rating: Summary: off the chain Review: This book was outstanding. I really really liked it because it was so truthful. I think Ms. Jackson came to my salon and studied us for her book. Only reason I gave it 4 stars was because it ended so soon.
Rating: Summary: Beauty shop drama Review: Sheneska Jackson, I'm a big fan of yours. I've read all of your books and I can't wait to read Southern Comfort. I know it will be a big seller like the others. Blessings was full of drama, love and hurt. Zuma was my girl. She knew just what she wanted and what it was going to take to get it. I found myself cheering for Patricia. I could relate to her in may ways. Sandra had alot of issues she was attempting to deal with. Faye had her hands full with her too fast daughter. It's a real blessing to have friends that you can count on. I highly recommend this novel. This is an excellent christmas gift. Be Blessed!
Rating: Summary: Very life like, humorous, yet dramatic Review: At first read, I wasn't quite sure if I would like this book-the introductory chapter was kind of wordy and abstract. However, once I got further along, I was totally engrossed in its contents. The ending was quite a surprise to me, since I can usually guess the endings of most books.
