Summary: What is meant to happen will happen
Review: I enjoyed this book, but in all honesty, it was a little unbelievable. The character development was excellent. I could picture how Pat, Faye, Zuma and Sandy looked from the descriptions alone.

First off, I want to talk about Pat. Here is a woman that has everything from a loving, supportive husband, to her own successful business. All that's missing is a child. GIVE ME A BREAK! YOU'LL GET IT! CHILL OUT! She appeared to me to be a spoiled impatient brat. Then there's Faye with the out-of-control daughter. She should have sent her away for parent abuse. Then there's Zuma who wants to make up for a past mistake. WHEN HAVE WE EVER BEEN ABLE TO CHANGE THE PAST? HELLO! Then the selfish, horrible, child-hating Sandy. How can anyone treat a child like she treated them. If this were real life, she would have left them in a trash bin or just anywhere. No one is going to have that kind of hate in them and care enough to tolerate the kids she hated so much. She would have just killed them herself if you ask me.

Anyway, it still make for a good story and an easy read. Keep up the good work!

Summary: Great Book
Review: Blessings was a great book. I love the bonds that were between the ladies of the Salon and their children. It was a good read.

Summary: Mixed Blessings
Review: Ever since I'd been given "Caught Up In The Rapture" to read, I was hooked on Sheneska Jackson's writing. So deeply hooked, I anticipated "Li'l Mama's Rules" and loved it. Upon reading "Blessings", never had a book taken me on such incredible highs and unbearable lows in emotion. I cheered for Pat, Zuma and Faye when their desires were realized and I also cried for them when they weren't. The only character I couldn't cheer for was Sandy, but I did cry for her when she sacrificed her family and didn't express much concern. All in all, I did enjoy "Blessings" and recommend it to anyone looking for a book that will have you laughing and crying without putting it down once.

Summary: Not As Good As Her Others
Review: I was really disappointed with this one because I am a fan of Ms. Jackson's work. Usually, she has a distinguished, unique voice that I admire and enjoy reading. "Blessings", however, seems to be written by someone else. I couldn't believe it--it was so cliche-ridden. It seemed to lack skill. It is another book in the pile of typical black fiction (and I won't say African-American because I AM Canadian). But I will continue to read Ms. Jackson's work nevertheless.

Summary: This should be a movie (motion picture)!
Review: I just love this book. It was so real, you NEED tissues for this one. I love how Ms. Jackson got into the lives of each character, and made me feel like I could relate to all the different issues. I never been in any situation these women were in, but I know alot of women who are just like Sandy & Faye (I recomended the book to all of them). This would be a wonderfuel movie, not one part should be left out either. I loved it so much, I almost hope there would of been a series. Especially with the way the story ended on suspensful endings. PLEASE MAKE THIS A MOVIE, PLEASE it was toooooo good. Anyone reading this reveiw GO BY THE BOOK, and some tissues, this is going to make you cry over & over again. (No, I don't work for the author or the publisher I just loved it that much.)

Summary: Excellent Reading
Review: This book was very good reading and very realistic. The author brought out each character in true form and made them seem very real. They were real people with real problems and as I read I actually felt what each character was feeling. I felt like I was going through everything with them. There was a little overkill with the cursing but overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Summary: A Very Good Read
Review: This is one of Sheneska Jackson's best books. I am a big fan of this author. She puts so much heart and reality into her books. The characters and the story line were so real. You could actually feel what was going on. I caught myself crying a few times. A must read.

Summary: Excellent Book
Review: This is a very good book to read. It keeps you moving through each chapter. The characters are believable as well. I have read Ms. Jackson's other books as well -- but this one I enjoyed the most. Keep it up Sheneska Jackson!

Summary: Very good
Review: Blessings is by far Ms. Jackson's best work. I have read all of her books and this one is extremely good as well. At first I thought the book was going to be a drag then when Sandy showed up I knew it was going to be a drag yet I continued to read. After awhile, I could not put the book down. I really enjoyed the diversity in this book, it illustrated how women of different ethnic backgrounds can bond and encourage one another. Though I enjoyed the ending I thought it was a bit unrealistic. I look forward to her next book. Keep up the great writing girl!
