Summary: True Blessing
Review: this was truly and amazing story. my favorite was zuma, she was a woman who truly knew what she wanted out of life. and to think how inspirational it is to save $50,000. in 5 years. that was awesome. most twenty five year old don't have that on their minds. i wish i was that focused back then. and then as far as she went to getting pregnant was truly amazing. my heart went out to her when she found out she wasn't pregnant. i'm glad she decided not to do it again. fate has it. she just need to stay focused but wait and allow God to send her a husband. and faye she was making me sick to the stomach eating as much as she did. i have a friend who does that. it is soo not healthy. it's really sad to think people allow food to pacify their emotional state. and pat she made me so mad when she kept turning her husband away. but thank God he was committed to his marriage. i would be indebted to my husband (futuristically) if he was like that. and sandy needed her butt truly kicked. she was very selfish, self centered and coniving. i would not like to be around a person like that. overall the book was an excellent book. it made me think a lot and i learned a lot too. i wanted to be more focused on something when i say i want it. to me even though stuff like this happens every day it still have a different affect everytime you experience it. i could also really relate to pat and zuma. i don't have any children and though i would love to have some, i don't think that i will. i'm 35 and not married and i don't want to be a single parent. i know that's not the way God intended. sometimes i get a notion of incompleteness but then again i remember it's not too late.

Summary: Powerful, Insighful and a true page turner....
Review: I couldn't put this book down. It was wonderfully written, powerful and so insightful. A true page turner from beginning to end. I hated to see the book come to an end. I could see bits of myself in Zuma, Pat and Faye. My heart went out to Pat and her hubby Mark as they longed to be parents. I cried for Faye and her family and the obvious pain they were all dealing with silently. The hard nose Zuma won me over after awhile and had me in stitches as she battled with that D-O-G Taj and anyone else who tried to cross her. She displayed so much courage in the mist of her own private hell. Sandy left a bad taste in my mouth. I found it hard to believe that she, could be so cold toward her own children. The way she refers to them, cares for them and talks about them was so dishearting for me. Oftentimes, I was brought to tears throughout this book and I look forward to reading it again and passing it onto others, Who I'm sure will enjoy it as much as I. While reading this book and afterwards, I found myself looking in the mirror and re-evaluating myself as a woman, wife, mother and friend. It made me think about the choices I've made in my past and the effects and impact they on my life.

I look forward to reading other books by Sheneska Jackson and I'm sure they'll be just was powerful. In my opinion, Blessings, is a bestseller and touch and move many women and hopefully men, in the years to come. I'm heading to the store to buy extra copies for friends and family.

Summary: Blessings Is A True Pleasure!
Review: 'Blessings' by Sheneska Jackson is most certainly a blessing to read! This enchanting story is based around four women who work at a hair salon in Los Angeles. Pat, the store's owner discovers she is infertile and with the help of her husband, Mark, starts a long and hard journey to adopting a child. Faye, a biracial, widowed, mother of two tries to come to terms with her daughter's wild, reckless ways and a son who will never know his father. Zuma is a hip young woman who's past has come back to haunt her and makes her decide to become pregnant. Finally, there's Sandy, an ex-stripper also called White Chocolate, who's number one passion in life is mistreating her kids. The characters in this story are sympathetic and believable. The plot is also fast-paced and well-planned. There are no boring places in the book so it will certainly keep your attention. If you're reading this review, you've got to get yourself a copy. It is not to be missed!

Review: Sheneska has out-done herself with this one. I truly enjoyed this story from beginning to end. It's packed with marvelous characters, each with real-life issues, and written in a way that would keep readers anxious to find out what happens next.

I'm already anticipating Ms. Jackson's next novel.

Summary: By far one of the books that have touched my life this year!
Review: This book is for anyone who has: 1. Had an abortion 2. Want to have children but... 3. Have children but daddy isn't around 4. Have children but you had them for all the wrong reasons If anyone fits this description, then you should read this. Blessings may take place in a beauty salon but it takes a place in your heart. I don't know if men really can relate to this book but there isn't any woman black or white that can not relate to any part of this book. I say it is a must read. I know too many people that fit all of the above. Blessing is a good read and has lots of suspense. I hope everyone enjoys it.

Summary: A FANTASTIC PAGE TURNER
Review: Any African American woman who has ever spent any time in a beauty shop must read this book. The beauty shop "Blessings" is the back drop for a wonderful, entertaining, funny and well written novel about 4 woman and their issues surrounding motherhood. The characters are incredibly well developed and you feel as if you know someone like each of the main characters. Zuma, the major character and the "diva of the hot curlers" is so real. She is so real that any black woman who has sat for hours in a beauty shop knows at least 1 Zuma.

Likewise, whether in a beauty shop or not, we all know at least one character like Faye. A woman who has issues surrounding her own self image and self esteem and drowns her sorrows in a bag of Oreo cookies or by ordering way too much food a Jack in the Box. Yes, we are comfort food addicts and when things go wrong, food and lots of it makes us feel better.

Sandy is by far the most complicated of the characters because she lives her life for one thing only and that's Cerwin. She has no compassion for her children and could be characterized as a terrible mother until she redeems herself in the end.

Finally, there is Pat, the owner of the shop whose main issue surrounds her inability to have children and how that significantly impacts her life.

These characters are real and each individual personality compliments the other in such a manner that they relate well to each other in the novel and they gain strength for each other. This book was absolutely fantastic and the author was very vivid in her description of specific events, such as Tracy being taken from her foster parents.

I look forward to reading more novels by this author. This book is definitely a "sistergirl" book.

Summary: THIS BOOK REALLY GOT ME HOOK
Review: I just finish reading this book today and and I'm still in shock cause of the ending, It's like the last three chapters just blown me away unexpectedly. Shaneska did a great job in this book and I'm happy I read all three of them, I can't wait for new book to come out next Spring. Pat, Faye, and Zuma were some great characters in this book, It made you grow with them through out the entire book. Sandy had some issues and she's a person that you will get mad at and have no sympathey for her through out the story. " Blessing's" was truly a great book to read and I know other reader's would agree too.

Summary: Blessings
Review: The book seemed so real. I could see how women can relate to the issuses of the women in the story. I am not old in age so when I first read the summary I thought I am not having those issues in my life now. Sheneska made the story so beliveable because women are in those situations everyday. I know I could not relate to the things because, I have not entered into that phase in life, but it has taught and made me understand everything us as African-American women have to go through. I enjoyed reading the book. I recommend it to any one because, you can relate in some form of fashion. Sheneska Keep Up The Good Work! :)
