Rating: Summary: What happens next--it was unpredicitable! Review: I have read all three of Sheneska Jackson's novels and Blessings is running neck and neck with Caught Up in the Rapture. As usual Jackson had me zooming from page to page wondering what would happen next, and even thinking about skipping pages to find out. Blessings is a story about motherhood, those who want it, those who don't, and those who want to be better at it. If I say anything more, it might ruin the book. Sheneska Jackson has not let me down--and she won't let you down either.
Rating: Summary: BRAVO! BRAVO! BRAVO! Review: This book was really, truly a blessing. The characters were all insync. I could identify with the location of the shop, because I live not far from the locale in her book. I really loved this book, it was hard to put down. This book was my first reading of Sheneska Jackson's work, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Keep them coming, girl friend!
Rating: Summary: Thoughtful, hilarious and real people Review: Blessing truly is. Ms. Jackson weaves a story with well developed realistic characters that don't have all the answers but provide food for thought. This quick read actually covers many, many issues in our community and will lead to coversations well after you finish this enjoyable novel. A must read - especially for the brothers.

Rating: Summary: Another great book by this author Review: Ms. Jackson does it again. This young women has such an insight into human character. I'm sure we all know someone like the four women involved in the storyline. I can hardly wait for her next book!
Rating: Summary: Get your Blessings! Review: Sheneska Jackson has topped herself with her latest offering Blessings. Her writing is thorough down to the last detail and her characters are extremely well developed. Pat and the gang will have you rolling with laughter one minute, angry as hell the next, and on the verge of tears before you know it. I didn't think that Sheneska could top the realism, freshness, and emotional depth she's given us in Caught Up in the Rapture and Lil Mama's Rules, but with Blessings she's moved on to a whole 'notha level. All I have left to say is: Terry who?

Rating: Summary: This book was the bom!!!! Review: Sheneska has really out done herself with this book. I just could not put it down. I laughed, cried, and rejoyced with each character. If you have not read this one, you don't know what you are missing.
Rating: Summary: Move over Terry McMillan! Review: Sheneska Jackson does not get the credit she deserves as an African-American author. Unlike many other writers, she writes novels that are true and have depth. Also, in this novel, she answers a question that society has yet to grasp. If you do not/cannot properly care for your children, instead of making the child the victim, do what's best for the child, not you. In this society, we see so many people having children, yet all they talk about is what they want, and what they want to do. The characters in Ms. Jackson's book ultimately but themselves aside and did the right thing. This is a message that has yet to reach many people in this age of do-what-I-want instead of do-what-is-right regardless of what I want or feel. With this kind of writing, maybe we can change that. God bless.
