Summary: Too delicious to put down
Review: To say I love this book would be putting it mildly; I just adore it. The recipes are sinfully delicious (and calorie-laden), and the tales are tastefully erotic and funny, just as I expected from the author. If you haven't bought it, do it now; even if you don't like it, you still could learn a useful thing or two.

Summary: Love and food
Review: Two of the most exquisite pleasures put together ! Through receipts coming from all over the world , Isabel Allende is funny and writes an enjoyable book . But in the end , the reader has the feeling that all kinds of food can be aphrodisiac . Of course , the reader may also conclude that love is more in the mind of each one than on the specific food you eat .

Summary: Fun! Sexy!
Review: Two parts sexy fun and one part erotic cookbook.

Summary: A fun and flavorful look at our cooking habits
Review: When Isabel read from her book the audience was laughing and enjoying every bit of it. Later when I was on vacation I read it from cover to cover and I found it excellent as a resource guide for fun and tasteful food. Also, my mother is quite a cook and has made some of the Chilean dishes that Allende describes. I am glad Isabel took the time to write something fun, I have enjoyed her other books and I recommend this one.

Summary: A different kind of love and cooking!
Review: When it comes to sex and aphoridisiacs, Chileans are very conservative. Isabel Allende touched the subject with humour, art and wit. In a book that is like a Pandora box, you can find a carefully blended range of elements. Nicely mixed with the text are reproductions of beutiful art work and sensual cooking recipies all related to Allende's theme of sensuality. You can feel her mischivious spirit in this book. She allows you to touch the tantalizing flavours with your imagination and savour them discretely without offending the hidden puritan in all of us, but rather with a grin in our faces. If you have a sense of humour, enjoy cooking and appreciate art, you will enjoy this book as much as I did.

Summary: Gimme Some
Review: Yes, indeed.

Everything in all the other laudatory reviews is true, but I thought I would comment on the tactile and visual quality of the book.

It is printed on lovely smooth paper, slightly glossy and with a weight that seems more like that of an art book. It is filled with great colour illustrations, including cute drawings by Robert Shekter, and reproductions of romantic and sensual paintings. The font is elegant, especially the italics, and the book is nicely bound with a black cover and saucy red endpapers! It is a nice size for reading in bed ;)

Seldom have I seen a book that is so pleasing in every way. If you are feeling blah, this book will cheer you up. Allende's pleasure in life is infectious.

Summary: talking about your TASTE
Review: You will find every senses you have, tongue, eyes and all over your body. While I understand myself as very emotion- and sense-oriented, I am surprised how Isabelle uses her sensitiveness lying over cooking and physical-emotional sensuality. Hundreds of anecdotes she puts in the book could enrich and enhance your experiences. I am trying to translate into Japanese if Isabelle permitts.
