Summary: This book shows that women over forty can be spontaneous!
Review: Stella reminded me that I should take time to enjoy life. Being a single parent is not an excuse to lie down and play dead! All work and no play makes us tired!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: What it really feels like to be a woman!
Review: Any woman, anywhere, at any age can appreciate the feelings and emotions of Stella. She transcends race, age and marriage status barriers even though she is very definately a black-40ish-single woman. The writing style is unique and witty. I felt as though I was reading Stella's mind (which was the point). Don't we all form our thoughts in that fashion?! The humor was wonderful, the relationships so real and the charactors true to life. I can not wait to read it again

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Well done..interesting..erotic..realistic...and fun.
Review: A great story about a succesful AA woman who had conquered everything but love. She found it in a unique place with a very unique person. A very sexy story that my wife and I read together and had to take several "breaks" from. I haven't read any of her other works, but this one was quite well done.

Summary: EXCELLENT!!!!
Review: At first, I had a difficult time getting into it. I didn't think that I would like it. However, after several pages I was hooked. It is written in an unconventional manner, which by the end of the book I found to be refreshing. Thank you to the author for entertaining me so profoundly

Summary: It was the bomb!
Review: I admit, in the beginning I was getting a little weary of the run-on sentences. But by the time I got half way into the book, I just couldn't put it down! McMillan has a way of writing that makes you feel like you know the characters in her book. That's how I felt about Stella Payne. When I finished the book, I felt like I had left friends behind

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: GOOD READ!!!!!GREAT IF YOU DON'T WANT TO THINK TOO HARD.....
Review: This book was a good read. I really didn't mind the run on sentences, it sort of left me with the impression that I was in her head at all times

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: a kick-in-the-pants book about getting back into life!
Review: Stella, a 42 year-old, single mother from California seeks out a week of quiet time for herself in Jamaica and instead finds herself head-over-heels in love with a man half her age. She struggles with the usual "oh he's too young for me what will my friends and family and son think about it" stuff until she realizes that "HEY! he's wonderful, kind, considerate, funny, intriguing and for some reason, he gives me my spirit back! why NOT go for it!" Sit, back, relax and enjoy Stella's journey back to her own best self!

Summary: Lost Groove Found
Review: Okay, Okay already-- we get the idea that many of the reviewers did not enjoy the run on sentences, and I for one was thrown off at first by them, and wonder if it was me or did Terry get hit in the head by an extremely large brick and lost all sense of the English language. However, I did find the book straight up "McMillan Style" with the frankness in which she tells her stories. One thing I can say about Terry is she does not beat around the bush. I applaud her on the description of the relationship that Stella shares with her son: A Loving, caring, honest and respectful relationship that I hope transcends the book to the real life relationship Terry shares with her son. Thank you Terry for showing us that warmth!

Summary: Excitingly vibrant love story.
Review: This book is definitely class A material. The book would have drew a 10 if only her writing style was not so obscure. I think Terry always does her best work when the reader can truly empathize with the character, a task not easliy accom- plished, and take on the journey along with them. I must say felt as though I was there and a part of this story. I to fell in love during the course of this book, I to felt the agonizing trials felt in this book. It was a wonderful experience just reading it. I've already read it 7 times. I would just like to thank Ms. McMillan for the journey

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: tedious, but fun
Review: i agree, this is not miss mcmillan's best work. the run on sentences lead one on a very trying journey. but i think in the end, the trip is well worth the effort. enjoy the book for what it is.
