Rating: Summary: Dont care about the errors Stella is the "BOMB" Review: I have read all of your books and the only one I did not understand was "Dissapearing Acts". This book brought out that not all women over 40 are old,out of shape, humped overed, falsed teeth wearing,no sex drive, old maid. I think the only ones who did not under stand this book, are thoses who are jelous and afriad to do the things that Stella did, well wont do.I admire your style of writing that is what makes you Terry "YOU GO GIRL"
Rating: Summary: TERRY'S MOST INCREDIBLE BOOK YET....CAN SHE TOP THIS ONE??? Review: I KNOW THAT THE WRITING STYLE OF THIS BOOK IS NOT FOR EVERYONE, BUT FOR ME IT MADE ME FEEL LIKE I WAS STELLA GOING OVER ALL OF THE EMOTIONS. WHEN I GOT TO THR END, I NEVER WANTED IT TO STOP WHICH IS A SIGN THAT THE WRITER HAS DONE HER JOB OF MAKING THE READER FEEL LIKE THEY ARE THERE, WATCHING, ANTICIPATING. I DON'T KNOW HOW SHE IS GOING TO TOP THIS ONE. I HAVE READ ALL OF HER BOOKS AND THIS IS THE BEST YET. HAS ANYONE HEARD WHEN SHE IS GONNA RELEASE "A DAY LATE & A DOLLAR SHORT"? I CAN'T WAIT FOR IT ANY LONGER......
Rating: Summary: Come to Jamaica and go home happy! : ) Review: What a GREAT book! What can I say? It's one of the best books I've ever read in my life! I loved every bit of it! Cheers for Terry McMillian! A must read for anyone who loves romance novels, sunny vacation spots like Jamaica, or is looking for true love! : )
Rating: Summary: LOVED THIS BOOK!!!! WANT THE MOVIE NOW! Review: This book was great, I loved it. I start many books rarely finish one, but I read this book in a couple of days and I enjoyed it. It is written the way I write and talk in "run-on" sentences. When I heard there was a movie I was excited, though I don't think it could beat the book!
Rating: Summary: Very captivating could not put it down Review: I love this story.once again terry mcmillian did it again.i am looking forward to seeing the movie.
Rating: Summary: VERY DISAPPOINTED Review: I have read all of McMillan's other books and assumed this one would be as interesting as her others. Boy was I wrong! This book has absolutely no plot whatsoever and I barely got past the first chapter. I'm glad I borrowed this book instead of paying $23 for the hardback.
Rating: Summary: An exciting escape from life Review: "Stella" is a GREAT book. It is a prime route for escapism, as the main character follows her heart and takes chances that most of us only dream of doing. Yes, she is too perfect and you will spend a little time wondering why the author implies that this kind of experience can only happen to the beautiful woman with the perfect body, but beyond that, it is very easy to get swept away in the romance and you will have SO much trouble putting it down! It is a great read for a vacation or a day on the beach.
Rating: Summary: It is the book version of Mary J. Blije's "Real Love" Review: Once you overcome Stella's slight "down with whitey" attitude, the book gives you a real adventure. It is light summer reading at its best. Although at times McMillan underestimates her audience's ability to know what real love is, she manages to purvey her message of "Love has no boundary." If you are in the mood for a fun trip to Jamaica, you might want to check this one out.
Rating: Summary: A Refreshing, Freely Written Novel! Review: A truly refreshing and entertaining read! McMillan's first-person acount of Stella's life is crisp, unrehearsed, and frank. Her character development is phenomenol and she leaves you wanting more of Stella's wit, more of Stella's intelligence, and more of Stella's humor. A very real, very unforgettable character. An old story line with a new style of prose that makes this novel a must-read!
Rating: Summary: NO COMMAS, SO WHAT!! Review: ALL THE RUN-ON SENTENCES CAUSED ME TO FLOW WITH THE WORDS , AS IF WERE HAVING A CONVERSATION WITH SOMEONE. I DIDN'T HAVE TO BE INTERRUPTED BY PERIODS AND COMMAS. THE BOOK WAS GREAT, AND JUST LIKE POETRY EVERYONE HAS THEIR OWN WRITING STYLE. SO GET OVER IT
