Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Simply the best
Review: This book is hands-down, the best book I have ever read. Fannie Flagg's wonderful book has provided me with more laughs, inspiration, happiness, and entertainment than any other book I've ever read. Everyone in America should read this book to learn about true friendship and love.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Engaging, funny, touching
Review: I wanna be Idgie when I grow up! Fantastic story, highly recommended to everyone.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Hard to follow, but still very good
Review: Fannie Flagg is such a gifted, talented writer. I could read her books over and over again. However, this particular writing style, jumping back and forth between time, was a bit confusing. It would be 1986, then 1944, back to 1986, then drop down past 1944 and go to 1936. Huh? What came first?! Oh, but after a while I got used to it and rather enjoyed the book and the mystery. Not as good as Daisy Fay but still a readable and engaging novel.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Ruth and Idgie whether they're lesbians or not
Review: I loved this book which is new for me because i usually don't like reading and would rather watch the movie instead. Since this book was recomended to me I said "what the hell". I did read the book before i saw the movie. I thought the movie SUCKED. It was confusing at the end, whether or not ninny was reall Idgie (confusing). I wondered if Idgie and Ruth were lesbians than I thought does it really matter, does it effect the story in any way. I think not!!! I give this book 4 stars just because it was difficult reading at first because so much was going on at a time(jumping back and forth through time). They introduced so many characters that I had to go back through the book trying to figure out who was who. Other than that it is a brilliant book. It's a classic; its a definite keeper.

Summary: Oh my goodness!
Review: Any book that can make me cry is a definate keeper. This one ranks right up there with Little Women and To Kill a Mockingbird. It is so touching that you have to give in to and just devor it whole. (I'm sorry; I can't spell!)

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Just incredible
Review: I saw the movie Fried Green Tomatoes before I read this book, and while the movie is good in its own way, it does not do this story justice. The characters, especially Idgie and Evelyn, are so well-drawn and alive - the book is definitely not a calculated tear-jerker, as the movie was. It spends time following the lives of everyone from Whistle Stop, Alabama, all of whom are fascinating. Even though I've never lived in the South, I get the impression that if I had I would have appreciated the ways of the people. Anyone who is against this book because of perceived lesbian undertones should really consider that the story is not really about that. It's about friendship and the things that keep people together through hard times and happy times. One of my favorite books ever.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A book beyond belief!
Review: Absolutely amazing! I was caught after the first paragraph and couldn't stop. It was nothing like the movie and a milliont times better! I want to meet EVERY character!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: deffinately one of the best books i`ve ever read!
Review: Fannie Flagg is quite an accomplished writer who combines teaching and humor in a book that will break your funny bone and drain your tear ducts.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: the perfect birthday present to a friend
Review: i forgot counting how often i read the book ... should be around ten times, maybe even more ... once i finished it and started all over again ... did you ever do that with a book? ... i gave this book as a birthday present to some friends or even just any other day because i felt like doing so ... it's a wonderfully written book that makes you laugh and cry and, maybe the most important thing - it makes you thinking about friendships again ... don't waste your time with watching the film, although the actors are brilliant!!!, but the real feeling only comes from the book...

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: One of the Classics!!
Review: Okay so I have not finished the book but it is truly a awesome book. I saw the movie before and the book is much better (Like most of the time.) My mom grew up in the south (Maryland) and my grandparents still live there, so the book makes me feel like I am right back in the south or with Idgie and Ruth and Stump. I truly recomend it to all who need a little laughter. Or even someone who you might find in the Dill Pickle Club!

PS-Idgie and Ruth are not lesbians and it shouldn't be banned from the schools because it dosen't even realate to that topic. Oh Yeah, Idgie was Stump's aunt and Ruth was Idgie's best friend, who she loved dearly, like Buddy and Idgie when she was younger (Duh)!!!!!
