Summary: TOWANDA!
Review: This book was a terrific book and I'm 13. Even some early teens can read this book. I'm now eager to read some of her other novels. Good work Fannie Flagg!

Summary: Just how big WAS that catfish?
Review: This was a very touching book with characters who were sometimes funny and sometimes sad. I liked the way Flagg tied all the loose ends together, although if you study the book, you'll notice that the chronology does not quite fit. It's a beautiful book. I especially liked the sections about Idgie and Ruth.

Summary: this heartfelt story should be cherished...
Review: I read this book for a school assignment, but I got so much more than a grade out of it. Fried Green Tomatoes is a beautiful woven blanket of the past and the present. The intricate details and tequinues used are part of what makes this book so special. We tend to forget the past- focusing only on what is here and now. The past formed us, and it has a greater inpact on us than many would like to admit. I loved this story- I became so attached to each of the characters- the author makes them so human... and of course I cried at the end, which was too realistic for my romantic mind. it is an amazing tale of love and acceptance, and the strong bonds of friendship. I would recommend it to anybody

Summary: Comedy????
Review: Well, I hate to be negative, but I do not like this book. True, there is comedy, if you have a lame sense of humour. There are touching moments. Actually, I don't know that for sure, somebody told me that. I never became attached to the characters, and after a while, they just became plain annoying. I wish I had never bought the book.

Summary: "love and be loved in return"
Review: This book helps you to love life. The characters keep hoping and being optimistic throuout their lives, however troubled-stricken they are. The book is beautifly written. I think that the motto of the book is love. "The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return."

Summary: TOWANDA!
Review: The movie was great, but it just didn't do the book justice. It didn't touch on the well written characters as much as the book did, and left some out all together. This is an amazing book, I must have read my soda stained copy ten times so far, and I never grow tired of it. Ninny and Idgie never fail to cheer me up when I'm blue. I think this is a great book for young women to read, despite what certain closed minded people may believe about Idgie and Ruth's lifestyle. When people focus on the fact that they are lesbians, they fail to recognize the point of the book- friendship, love and respect. I would think most people would be more outraged at wife- beating Frank Bennet than at the love between Idgie and Ruth. By the way, I live near Montecito, and I hope to run into Ms. Flagg one of these days- but I'm not holding my breath!

Summary: Greatest Book Ever Written
Review: I tell everybody that this is the greatest book. It has the honor of being my favorite book, and I've read tons. I literally cried on one page and laughed on the next with my tears still wet on my cheeks. It breaks almost every standard rule of writing that you're ever taught. I have never seen the prickly subject matter of homosexuality more tactfully written, and you feel as though you are right there with the characters. I have to stop because I could just keep going!

Summary: wonderfully done
Review: I saw the movie so many times before I read the book. I mean I memorized the movie so well that the book was incredable. The movie even quoted from the book so many times. When I was reading the part where that guy Smoote was talking to Idgie I could just hear his voice from the movie talking. The endings on the two were different and (in my opinion) I liked the ending of the movie better. I don't think I'll ever get tired of the story Fannie Flagg created. I would like to thank her for it. It will be one of my favorites for all time.
