Summary: Makes me want to meet all the characters in person
Review: In this light-hearted novel, we join Ninny Thredgoode as she reminances her past at the Whistle Stop. There, we join the unforgettable characters in their pranks, their heroism, their ordeals, and of course their joys and sadness. We are taught one simple lesson through the author's unique way of storytelling - to be contented and embrace whatever life has to offer. After finishing the book, I find myself thinking of Ruth, Idgie, Big George and crowd and wish that i could have known them.

Summary: I will never be without it - THE BEST STORY OF OUR TIMES!
Review: This story will always be with me - for ever. I never experienced so much emotion in one book. As we say here in South Africa - "Uitmuntend" - meaning "the very best". Read it, and it will be with you, for ever!

Summary: The best book I've ever read
Review: I've seen the movie and loved it, so when I saw the book I was really excited and decided to buy it. It was wonderful it was a great book from beginning to end. I wish that I could find another book as good as this, but I doubt I'll be able to. If you've seen the movie, it's similar to the movie, but like most movies it's a little different. It's worth the money it takes to buy it

Summary: Fried Green Tomates at the Whistel Stop Cafe
Review: Fried Green Tomatoes is a must read for anyone who has ever dreamed of a better life. This book is a heart gripping tale of four women, two from the present and two from the past. Flagg does a wonderful job of interweaving their lives together so that the four lives meet in a time and place that is special to all. This was a hard book to put down because I lived the lives of Idgy, Ruth, Mrs. Threadgood and Mrs. Couch and I wanted to see where the next adventure would take me

Summary: Fascinating....Laughable...!
Review: A story about this old lady, Evelyn, who is unhappy with her life to begin with. Until she met, Mrs. Threadgoode, her life changed upon this life story that she told about. Which was a story that takes you back to the 1930's in Alabama at the Whistle Stop of these two girls, one tomboyish Idgie and other was sweet and friendly, Ruth. It talked about these two girl's life in the eye of Mrs. Threadgoode. I liked this book because it gave me the oppournity to see that there was some kind of diversity even that long ago, and be able to appreicate life alone even more and it give me the chance to laugh and say it was a good book to read.

Summary: A sweet, tender and funny world lives between these pages.
Review: This is the kind of book that will take you out of whatever section of our often dreary, unkind world you inhabit, and settle you down in its own place. You'll meet characters who know which rules to break, and how to break them properly. The writing is lovingly infused with the flavor of the south, and with a kind of humor that an author couldn't take on if it weren't genuine. And when it's over, you'll be sad that you don't live in Whistle Stop, but it will be OK, because Whistle Stop lives in this book and you can always reread it.

Summary: Great Great Great !
Review: This book is about life in the early 1900s and life in the 80s. It's bout how no matter when you are alive you have to deal with the same types of situations. This story stays true to the south. The relationship between Idgie and Ruth is so inspiring. I would recommend this book to anybody who enjoys a good laugh and a good cry. I personally enjoyed this book because it gives you a lot of life's lessons in a small book.

Summary: Flagg this one for reading
Review: Southern writers just seem to do it for me. I don't know why, but they're the best, hitting the nail on the head almost all the time. Think of Lee with her "To Kill a Mockingbird," or McCrae with his "Children's Corner," harrowing, shocking, funny, and above all, well-written. Enter FGT by Flagg. Possibly THE southern book. Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle stop cafe is a wonderful story. I would have to say even better than the movie. The story takes place in two different times. The 1920's and the 1980's. This book shows characteristics of personality that has grown cold to the American culture. Such as true love and devotion, Loyal friendship, and selfless ness.

Summary: okay book
Review: I ususally enjoy the book more than the movie , but when it comes to Fried Green Tomatoes I definiely enjoyed the movie more. I saw the movie about 12 years ago and instantly fell in love with it. I think Jessica Tandy and Kathy Bates are some of the most talented actresses ever. In the movie you get the impression that Ruth and Iggie are just great female friends, almost sisters. In the book, it sound like they are homosexual lovers, or atleast that is what Iggie seems to want. I was sad to see that once I read the book a year ago. However, it was definitely an interesting and sometimes downright hilarious book. You definitely get to know the characters better from reading the book. It made me want to take a trip down to Alabama. I think kids over 15 would enjoy it.

Summary: A Pleasant Read
Review: After many years of sitting on my shelf I decided to finally pick this book up. I was not disappointed. It is filled with sweet vignettes about a quaint southern town. Only the more you read the more you discover the town isn't so quaint. But it does resonate as real. I enjoyed the book very much and am looking forward to more books by Fanny Flagg.
