Rating: Summary: Victoria Line, Central Line has 2 more stations Review: Another wonderful collection of short stories written by the masterful Irish author - you will be very captivated by them. Another helpful reviewer has warned readers that "London Transports" is the American title given to "Victoria Line, Central Line", so if you read one, you read them both. I got the British title, and by comparing the table of contents of "London" with the ones in "Victoria", found out that there are actually 2 stations missing in the American title: Tottenham Hale and Vauxhall. It's worth purchasing "Victoria" then, since each line written by the talented hands of Mrs. Binchy cannot be missed by avid readers - we cannot afford such loss.
Rating: Summary: Great story-telling,Binchy repeats herself. Review: Characters are so real and credible, the story is so simple and engaging, yet I have the feeling I read it in another book...another Binchy story collection.Still despite repetitions,it's nice to re-read what you like.Great story-teller,keeps you turning the pages, yet I'd like her to reinvent herself with the addition of some new content, strikingly different.
Rating: Summary: Go at your own pace. Review: Even those of us who love to get lost in a good, long read, often appreciate the short story as a change of pace. I felt as if I too were journeying through London on the Tube, peeking into the lives of my fellow (or should I say "sister" ) commuters. This book is for everyone who ever sat bored on a train, imagining storylines for everyone sitting nearby!
Rating: Summary: Good tub reading Review: Great Book to read in the tub and forget about your own life. Bincy blasts you in and out of the lives of strangers. Strangers who you can identify with on some level in each story. Somehow you end up wishing the short stories were each one book.
Rating: Summary: A great short story collection Review: I am an avid reader of Binchy, and having read most of her latest work, I wanted to check out the earlier stuff. It was well worth it! Anyone looking to read everything they can by Binchy will delighted by these tales of London, each named for a different stop on the train line. Each tale takes a glimpse of everyday life from an affair to a new apartment. A must read for Binchy lovers!

Rating: Summary: A wonderful short stories collection Review: I disagree with the reviewer that said that "The book seems to have been thrown together from stories published elsewhere in order to capitalize on Binchy's success." - This was the first book by Maeve Binchy that I read back in 1992, and I completely fell in love with it and later read all of her other works. Then it was published under a different name "Victoria Line, Central Line" and seemed to me like a perfectly selected, rather than "thrown together", collection of shirt stories. It is true that if you are looking for a full length saga like Binchy's other books you might be disappointed - but short stories is a completely different genre, and "London Transports" in my opinion can be classified with the best of it.

Rating: Summary: Thought provoking Review: I found each story made me think. Each of the short 22 chapters deals with issues that aren't easy to resolve, so Maeve leaves you to solve it in your own mind. I loved this book and would suggest it to anyone who wants to use their head while reading, yet doesn't want to get involved in a long story. You can take each chapter as you want and read into it as you wish.
Rating: Summary: Worth the money Review: I found this to be a great read. Binchy knows how to tell a good story with a light touch. The short story format lends itself to short reads or long periods.
