Rating: Summary: Hilarious adventures and insights! Review: This book made me laugh out loud, stay up until 4 AM, and start writing a diary! I couldn't put it down, and I've been recommending Bridget ever since! Fielding's observations about family, the constant struggle between the Singletons and Smug Marrieds, and the obsessions we all hide, are oftentimes true and always hysterical! The diary-style prose was very entertaining and I'm still laughing (of course, my friends call it an obsession)! Buy this book now, and pass it along to all your friends!
Rating: Summary: Bridget Jones is EVERY woman! Review: A comedy of errors, missed opportunities, lust, love and emotional terror, ambitious projects doomed for failure, insecurities, weaknesses and false bravado and, of course, life's freakish coincidences which send us reeling....Bridget Jones is unique in this world, and yet, strangely enough, is every woman. You must read this!
Rating: Summary: Must read for all singleton's Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this book and have passed it along to a number of friends as a must read. Even for the marrieds of the world, this book will make you laugh since everyone knows a harried single woman living Bridget's life. I was just scared when I determined that person was me! Hysterical, funny and an easy read you won't put done until you close the back cover.
Rating: Summary: Even a man can enjoy this Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this, even from a man's perspective!
Rating: Summary: August 25th 1998 Weight: 115lbs, no cigarets and no alcohol Review: Dear Diary, Today I found a new book called 'Bridget Jones' diary. It turned out to be very funy and very inspiring. I guess I am going to recommend it to my other friends so they can read it too. It's worth it. It's cute, easy and intelligent. A very charming book with a good sense of humour. It's a warm book which you can learn something from -not at least to write something in your diary someone else might find amusing (?!). Enjoy it.
Rating: Summary: Junk food for the brain Review: I read this book in two evenings. Such garbage. It scares me to see how many other reviewers could relate to Bridget's life! I HAD to read it for my book discussion group. It's appeal is limited to those who, like Bridget, are completely self-centered and oblivious to the real problems of our times. The book's only merit is as an escape from reality.
Rating: Summary: Entertaining, a character you care about and believe. Review: This was a fun read, just the right touch of lightness, but with enough reality to make you care about the characters.
Rating: Summary: What a loser!! Review: Amidst all the hype about this Singleton whom I could supposedly relate to, I was horrified to read about a sloppy, self- pitying, disorganized, undisciplined, weight-obsessed female. She only confirms to male chauvinists that women cannot quite take care of themselves and get over-emotional and neurotic over everything else. I definitely don't admire Bridget Jones. She does more a disservice to my gender than a funny look at ourselves. What a piteous loser. Only consolation is that it is a quick read.
Rating: Summary: Anyone could have written this book. Review: Anyone could have written this book, and most of would have done it better. This book is about an ordinary person doing ordinary things. Those who think this is a good book must have a boring life.
Rating: Summary: Bridget is everywoman!! Review: I finally discovered that I am totally normal. Bridget takes the words right out of my mouth and says what my friends and I have been feeling for so long. She relates exactly how it feels to be a single woman, or for that matter a woman in the the 90's period. This book is clever, unique, and extremely funny. It's fantastic!
