Summary: we are all just a bunch of neurotic women.
Review: I bought the book after a friend told me it was Nick Hornby's High Fidelity in women's version. It is. And it is a great book but it just confirmed my worst fears. If we women don't stop talking about calories and about our horrible dread of endind up alone things are going to get rough.

Summary: I am a gen-x woman, hear me vent!
Review: A quick read (you won't want to put it down) that was laugh-out-loud funny and embarrasingly true-to-life. Fielding captures the pitfalls of career, love life, getting ready for work in the morning, maintaining one's self-esteem, etc. So far, I have recommended this book to my husband, my mother, and my mother-in-law, not to mention my friends.

Summary: A delicious read!
Review: As a 15 year old maile, i would just like to say that this book is delicious. By this, I do not mean to imply that I tasted it, but rather that it is (in many ways) like a gourmet meal. These are as follows:

-IT IS SUCCULENT: though a pretty fizzy, shallow read on the surface, BJ's angst and self-loathing contradictions sting with truth. -IT HAS VARIETY: from satirical comedy to bitter anger to overwhelming sadness, this book runs the gamut of emotions. -IT IS SIMPLY TASTY (and tasteful): This is a wonderful way to write a novel. It is very ingenious. I am forever in awe of Fielding's incredible talent. -YOU CANNOT STOP "EATING": I was up until 2 in the mornign the first night I started the book (I began at 11). It is irresistible and delightful. -KISS THE COOK: Thank you Ms Fielding. Your incredible talent inspires me to no end. Keep writing...please...you are my new favourite author.

This is a "must-read"...you MUST read it! No matter your age, race, gender, nationality, this book captures and unlocks the 30 yr old singleton in all of us.

Summary: Witty and Hilarious - V.V.G. !!!!!!!
Review: First book in a long time that made me laugh out loud and then call my friends and read it out loud to them! Thanks Bridget - v.g.!!

Summary: I wish Bridgit Jones was a friend of mine.
Review: I am currently halfway through reading Bridgit Jones's diary for the second time. The first time I stayed up late, neglected chores and was mildly rude (nose in book all the time in presence of others) until I finished it. This book is hilarious! I can identify with Bridgit even though I am a 45 year old, married for 18 years, female "super-dooper" attorney (if I may so immodestly say) with a child. After having read many of the published reviews from other readers, I am amazed that no one has commented on the fact that, for all her immaturity and whining (mostly, but not always, to herself), Bridgit is a genuinely NICE person. Witness how often she restains herself from saying something witty but nasty, even in reponse to provocation, because it would be hurtful. When she follows her instincts, she does the right thing. It's when she thinks too much that she gets into trouble. As a result of her genuiness and good-heartedness, her friends love her. This book, granted is not "deep", but, nevertheless, is not as vapid as some suggest.

Summary: The Chick Flick of Books
Review: I also thought this was a funny book - and you don't have to be single to relate. Also a thirty-something girl, I found myself laughing out loud and forcing my husband to read the funny parts. And who could not relate to Bridget when she dated the young "whippersnapper" who told her "You're all squashy." Very funny book.

Summary: THIS IS ABSOLUTELY THE FUNNIEST BOOK I'VE READ TO DATE !!!!!
Review: IF YOU ARE A WOMAN, YOU WILL LOVE THIS BOOK !! I read this book in a couple of hours, but it felt like minutes. Offers the most hilarious insights into an average woman's persona. Living thru Bridget Jones, you quickly realize that all women are essentially kindred spirits, from obsessing over each calorie, to inviting company over and regretting it before they even get there. If you ever thought "there must be something seriously wrong with me", read this. I have passed this book on to almost every woman I know, and we all admitted to laughing out loud in the middle of the night, it's that funny !! Enjoy!!

Summary: A Day in the Life of a Single Woman!
Review: What single woman can not relate to this book!! It took me a day to read it, but I still find myself laughing about it! Bridget may not be the best role model, but her life is one that we can learn from and laught at!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A hilarious must-read for single women!
Review: This book was realistically written, cunningly pieced together, and attractively presented. In short, it was great (and funny!). Bridget is someone any single woman can relate to, or for that matter, any woman can relate to.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Very, very witty
Review: This is a most amusing book - and I challenge every woman who reads it to not identify with Bridget in some small way - even if it horrifies you to admit it! Take this for what it is, an enormously entertaining read!
