Rating: Summary: Good Job John Review: good book..waiting for the next. We all love you John keep up the good work Hugs Kisses and Best Wishes
Rating: Summary: Good book Review: While his mother's cancer progresses, the narrator in this book flashes back to his childhood when his mother explained that God was the sun, an epiphany that becomes more tangible as he wrestles with impending death. Readers who don't expect haute literature will be touched by this tearjerker story that offers tenderness and comfort. It's also an excellent book to give to those who are open to afterlife discussions and/or are grieving the loss of a loved one. I also highly recommend "Open Your Mind, Open Your Life: A Book of Wisdom" by Taro Gold.
Rating: Summary: John Edwards does it again....he is like a good friend.... Review: John...has a unique way of writing as if he were talking to you..his honesty as a medium and television personality is very clear....he is sooo believeable....i preferred his book one last time....but this is also good.....
Rating: Summary: Very Touching and Emotional Review: I ordered this book, as I am a huge fan of John Edward and have read all his other books. This was his first novel and I have NEVER read a book so emotional and so touching as this one. I have read it time and again, when I lose sight of the many gifts in my life. It has opened up a part of me that I had closed off many years ago. I highly recommend this book! If you have ever lost someone dear to you, this is the book you are looking for!!
Rating: Summary: Wow Review: Make sure you have a box of kleenex when you read this book! Edward's novel is special and so poetic. (from "What if God where the sun" John Edward) "...anytime a special memory comes into my mind. It's like a wave that washes onto the shore. The tide brings in the memory and soaks the shore...and it absorbs the water. Our memories are the waves, and we are the shore. When we cry, we release the negative part of the memory and pay tribute to it. The sad part is pulled out to sea...out of you" I love the Characters and the fact that you think the book starts off at one place and it ends with an interesting ending..or should I say Beginning <grin>. You'll know what I mean if you get the book. True Edward fans will know where he gets some of the material for the Novel...I mean it takes place in Glen Cove. But the distraction of you thinking whether Edward is really writing about himself goes away quickly. The writing is so rich. Although as a fan I'd like to think that through his characters he has shared a part of himself and his feeling about crossing over because of his ability to write with such emotion. What a heart!~ The section about the explaination about the title...Phew...so beautiful! A warning though...if you get this book...you will want to share it will anyone you love. The books message is a true gift.... Thanks John!
Rating: Summary: What If? Review: "What if God Were the Sun", is a story about the full cycle of life! It's presented as a fictional novel but I got the impression that much of it is autobiograpgical. Prepare yourselves prior to reading it with tissue's near by and if your as sensitive as I, a dish towel will be needed. This wonderful celebration of childhood memories will undoubtedly bring out your own whether you were a single child or a child from a large family. It also covers the times we like to not think of as part of life's cycle; death of our loved ones. John's portrayal of "God as the Sun" makes those difficult times in our lives so much easier to understand. I am certain that this philosophy was passed on to John by his Grandmother and he intern to others that touched his life and now he is passing it on to us. "What if God Were the Sun" will touch your heart and your soul. Thanks John.
Rating: Summary: DEEPLY TOUCHED Review: This book was one of the most emotional books I have ever read. Being of Italian descent I could picture myself throughout every scene that was being talked about in this book. This book definately delivers the message how important family is, and not to waste one moment while your together. If there is someone in your life you truly care about and maybe going through some tuff times, I would definately get them this book to read. It will lift your spirits.
Rating: Summary: Unreadable Review: I love John's other two books, but this was simply unreadable.
Rating: Summary: Ultimate Comfort Review: Having recently lost a beloved sister I was in need of solace. This book certainly provided that. Others have called it juvenile. I call it lovely, simply lovely. When I finished I was more convinced than ever that there is a force greater than ourselves and although we may be afraid to leave this life, there is something far grander waiting for us. My thanks to the author. He brought peace to my soul.
Rating: Summary: Enlightening Review: I have to admit as I was reading through the book I was swept away into feeling what the writer was revealing....and then an awful thing happened~ My husband read ahead and told me that the book was labeled fiction. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, anyhow, I had to get back into fiction mode and realized just how much more talented this guy really is. I am now reading 'Crossing Over' which I love better because he reveals real stories. I love his style of writing, ...it's like J.D. Salinger, I am there listening to him talking to me!! (...)
