Summary: my two cents...
Review: Grab a straw girls, because this book sucked. There was no point. I don't think that it even deserved one star...

Summary: On the beach with the Ya-Yas!
Review: I just spent a mini-vacation on the beach in Florida with the Ya-Yas! I read the book in less than two days and loved it. The characters were so real to me that I found myself thinking and dreaming about them even when I wasn't reading. I haven't felt this way about a book in a long time. I did laugh and cry. It was such a warm and touching story. I ran right out and bought "Little Altars Everywhere" so that I wouldn't have to abandon the characters. The story jumps around so much until finally completing a picture. I could not put it down.

Summary: Excellent! It made me miss Louisiana and my girlfriends
Review: Enjoyed reading about Louisiana and the strong bond between "girlfriends". Loved the stories of a mother and daughter at "odds" and at the same time the special relationship they had.

Summary: A beautiful story of family, friends and above all love.
Review: Such a rich, warm story that I was sorry to see it end. I felt like I was losing some dear friends.

Summary: DOWN-TO-EARTH READING
Review: THIS BOOK IS SO CLOSE TO REALITY FOR A LOT OF PEOPLE. I WOULD LOVE FOR MS. REBECCA WELLS TO WRITE A SEQUEL TO THIS STORY. SHE IS AN EXCELLENT AUTHOR. THE STORY BROUGHT BACK MANY MEMORIES IN MY OWN PERSONAL LIFE.

Summary: boring....
Review: I know so many people loved this book but I simply could not get into it. I was forcing myself to read it. I was waiting for the story to start after the first few chapters, but it never did.

Summary: Fabulous read
Review: Read the Ya Ya's. Also read Little Altars. I, as well as all of my friends loved the books. Funny, sentimental, touching, beautifully descriptive, insightful. I am not from the south, but could relate to the women's close friendship and the descriptions of the summer air. I read novels of all type, fiction, non-fiction, classics, Shakespeare and Stephen King. Divine Secrets as are all books, is unique unto itself and those who try to fit it into a mold and compare it to other novels of similar type do it a great disservice. I think all those who negatively picked it apart need to lighten up! Find a sense of humor.

Summary: Strong themes propel this mother-daughter reconciliation
Review: We are who we are as a result of a sum of our experiences and principally because of WHO raised us are strong recurring thoughts in Wells' DIVINE SECRETS. Coupled with the love, loyalty and wisdom shared by close women friends, SECRETS successfully communicates the notion that true love is indeed unconditional and doesn't seek to understand, but merely accepts. Above all, my lasting impression of this book is that life may be short, but it's as W-I-D-E as you want to make it. A good investment of your time.

Summary: Ya-Ya is womens lit at its best!
Review: It has been a long time since I read a novel that used the framework of two time periods so successfully. The daughter and the mother jump back and forth in time. This allows the reader to feel the sunshine at the swimming pond and feel the moisture in the air in Washington state. Neat!
