Rating: Summary: Trite trash attempting to pass as literature Review: This novel left me absolutely cold. I doubt I have ever felt such significant disgust or hatred of any novel as I do about this one. After all of the fanfare I decided to pick this novel up and give it a try - against my better judgment. Anyone who considers this literature has obviously had little exposure to true authors of merit. The most disturbing aspect of this book is its ability to maintain its place on the bestseller's list and in the hearts of many devoted fans. Am I missing something?!
Rating: Summary: Mind captivating, exubeberating, intriging, and intresting Review: This book is very intresting. A true page turner, I could not put it down. I read in two days. Rebecca Wells does an ecellent job of writing. She gives each one of her caricters total demesion. A very good book you should buy; you will read it over and over.
Rating: Summary: Truly captures Southern lifestyle! Review: Growing up in Louisiana makes you appreciate this book, but I have given it to many out-of-town friends and they love it. It captures the true friendships that are born, nurtured and cherished for a lifetime by the women of the South!
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: Although I am only 14 yars old I read this novel in its entirety in 3 days. I found it to be a rich, deeply moving story centering around the life of a young Lousiana girl and then her relationship with her daughter. I could relate to this novel because my entire family on my dads side lives in deep southern Lousiana. This is a great summer read, and I recommend it to any person who likes touching stories.
Rating: Summary: Almost cried when it was done! Review: This was the best book I have read in the longest time! I absolutely loved it and STRONGLY recommend it! It was funny and sad and a million other emotions put together in a way that touches your heart and stays with you long after the book is finished. Well done!
Rating: Summary: WHAT A TOTAL BORE! Review: I finished the book and I can't understand what all the excitement is about! A friend highly recommended the book to me. I won't take her advice again about a book. If a zero star was available, that would be my rating.
Rating: Summary: Amazing Review: One of the best, most touching books I've ever read. I've been blown away by it and by Rebecca's style of writing--her funny, eloquent ways of telling stories. She allows the reader to realize what a "rich tapestry" everyone's lives are, and not to judge people without seeing the big picture. Can't wait for her new book!
Rating: Summary: Loved this story about women friends and mother/daughters. Review: Loved it. Wish I had the close, understanding women friends of the ya-ya girls. Wish we all could know the true, dramatic stories of our own mothers. Made me cry. I have recommended to others.
Rating: Summary: This book will change the way you look at your Mom! Review: This book changed my life. It helped me to understand that mothers make mistakes and aren't perfect, yet we turn out o.k. anyway!
Rating: Summary: Definately a cant-put-down page turner all in itself! Review: The Ya-Ya sisterhood was given to me by a close friend's mother who said that I would enjoy it. She was definately right, I simply could not put it down. It incorporates the love and friendship of four loyal, wild, and fun loving gals, and hilarious southern humor as well as simpathy for the charactors misfortunes. Definately a well written story that makes you feel as if you are in the small Louisiana town with all the women having fun right along with them. A must read for all women everywhere!
