Summary: BEST BOOK EVER READ
Review: This book was by far the best book I ever read. It made me laugh and cry. I loved reading about the Ya Ya's and all their adventures and terrible things that happened to them as they grew up. The author wrote a wonderful book that I can read over and over. Reading about them made me think of my life and made me wish that the characters were real and I was part of a group such as the Ya Ya's. I loved reading about such a true and everlasting friendship.

Summary: A BIT TOO "GIRLIE" FOR ME, BUT ENJOYED IT.
Review: Got this one for my birthday because I'd heard so much about it, and overall it's a delightful, thought provoking story--but much preferred the characterization and detailed qualities of others I've read recently, such as Mother of Pearl, The Bingo Queens of Paradise, and Ellen Foster. Even so, I'll probably try Rebecca Wells again.

Review: As an 18 year old girl with an extremely close group of girlfriends, I felt every word that Wells wrote down. This is by far the best book I have ever read. I laughed at the beginning, and I cried at the end. I have never been so moved by a book in my life. Any female who does not read this book is making the worst mistake of her life.

Summary: True, revealing account of cenla in the 40's, 50's
Review: Born and raised in Cenla, I felt like someone had written my mother's life story....I grew up all around plantation farmers, even spent summer's on the creeks camping out, the ladies got together playing canasta; I think this is an excellent portayal of true life in Cenla and most still exists this way; your phrases touched my heart, I still tell my daugher "Pretty is as pretty does", thanks so much for this book, I am ready to re-read, what else can top this. I haven't read a book that so moved me to tears, laughter, hate and love since David Hill's Sacred Dust. THanks, Ms. Wells, if you only knew how it helped heal me also...

Review: I am very disappointed in this book. I have only gotten as far as the middle of the story and I cannot stand it anymore! This is the most boring story I have EVER read!There is no begining,no middle and certainly no end.I cannot wait to take it back!!

Review: The Ya Yas and their stories will definately make you want to run to your best girl friend and throw the book at her and say, "READ THIS!!!!" I bought the book....read it in one night and then past it onto my bestfriend to read. It has developed into a sort of "traveling" book as it has been passed on to another generation of readers. Read this book...you won't forget it.

Review: Rebecca Wells, despite all of the hardships she puts her characters through, seems to understand the ridiculousness of groups of friends like the Ya-Yas. This is a wonderfully touching book ... it reads almost like a memoir.

Review: I love this book! I normally consider myself a difficult reviewer. A tale of family realtions would never win me over! I am one tough cookie! Well this ice princess has been melted! I was not only drawn into this wonderfully unique southern family but then I found I also have a wonderfully unique northern family. Thanks Rebecca Wells! I plan on purchasing this book for each woman in my family for Christmas!
