Summary: Old Delinsky material is misleading and not very good!
Review: I have read all of Barbara Delinsky's books. Of those books, there have been a number of rereleases. What is annoying is that alot of romance writers are doing this, and their material is not always as good as the current price of a paperback. If a book was released in 1983 the price of the paperback should be lower, and the cover of the paperback should also have an indication that this book has just been rereleased with the current content untouched. I'm from Ottawa, Canada and this paperback was very expensive. Alot of money for an outdated storyline and not much of a story to tell.

Summary: Skip this one
Review: I heartily agree with the other reviewers. Picked this up on a whim at the grocery store and should have read the reviews first. I too overlooked the first page, which indicated the original release of 1983. It was a typical 1980s romance - forced advances with no build up.

Summary: Please, please, PLEASE, readers ...
Review: Please, please, PLEASE, readers ... take a minute to think. I have been writing for twenty years. During that time, my writing has changed dramatically both in content and style, which means that if you discovered me with recent books such as LAKE NEWS, COAST ROAD, and THE VINEYARD, you may be disappointed with my earlier books. They are shorter and simpler, nowhere near as multi-faceted as my current ones. That isn't to say that those early stories aren't wonderful, if you're in the mood for a quick, light, genre-inspired read.

Please know that I have no control over reissues of my earlier books. I have fought for years to get a tag put on the front cover indicating when a book is an early romance. I have fought for YEARS against the PRICE tacked onto these older books. I have always believed it to be unfair to my readers.

Unfortunately, my publishers don't always listen to me. Legally, they don't have to. When they own the rights to a book, they can do whatever they want.

PLEASE know that I'm not happy about the way these old books are being reissued.

PLEASE look at the copyright date and be wary of anything written so long ago.

PLEASE read the back cover blurb to understand whether you're getting an old romance or a newer novel.

My earlier books were pure and simple romances. If that isn't your cup of tea, please, please, PLEASE do not buy one of those books.

My thanks for your attention and your understanding.

Summary: I wouldn't say to skip this one...
Review: The story is a good one but I do see what several of the other reviewers are complaining about. It is a reprint and you can definitely see the difference between BD's earlier and later writings. Yes, the sexual pull between the main characters isn't as intense as stories written today. But I did enjoy reading it for an easy, sweet love story that wasnt real intense.

Summary: Old Delinsky material is misleading and not very good!
Review: This book was indeed a quickie, in more ways than one. First of all, the romance came together too quickly. Chapter two ceased the intensity of the infatuation stage when the two characters were already touching. BORING. Not that touching is boring, but when you read a romance novel, you like a little bit of anticipation and challenge between your characters. Secondly, I would liked to have read more about Graham and his relationship with his long lost daughter. Seems that the plot was quickly thrown in at the last minute and wasn't very interesting to read. Tug at my heart strings with rekindled love, between family or intimates, and give me an ending that will make me sigh. Don't get me wrong, the story was cute, but I think most romance readers like a little temptation and saavy, not a steeple-chased love story.

Summary: Tsk, Tsk, Tsk
Review: This is not the Barbara we have come to know and love. This is Barbara cira 1983. I should have been smart enough to read the publisher's page. Obviously, in 1983 the term "make them wait" was ignored. When this consumate professional builder fell into her arms in the second chapter, I put the book down. Come on, puhleeze. This gives men a bad name,(although I'm not a man). No professional coming over to look at a job, which he has heartily refused, would be so sappy as to subcumb to his desires so quickly. Where was the build? Where was the mystery? I just shake my head. From now on, I'll read the publisher's page first, thank you for nothing.

Summary: Easy Read for Busy Moms
Review: Very light, easy reading. I liked it because it moved quickly and was easy to pick up and put down. Nice story, nothing mind boggling...and you can finish it quick.
