Summary: THE DAUGHTERS OF A MOTHER
Review: BOICE TERREL ALLEN'S NOVEL IS A VERY EXCEPTIONAL NOVEL. I'VE BEEN READING NOVELS FOR 30 YEARS AND IF THE FIRST PAGE DON'T GRAB ME I CAN'T READ THE NOVEL ANY FURTHER. THE DAUGHTERS OF A MOTHER IS NOT THE CASE. FROM BEGINNING TO END I ENJOYED THIS NOVEL. IT'S THE KIND OF BOOK YOU CAN'T PUT DOWN. I FINISHED THIS NOVEL IN A DAY AND HATED WHEN I FINISHED, I KEPT WANTING MORE. BOICE TERREL ALLEN CAPTURES EVERYTHING THAT COULD HAPPEN IN A YOUNG PERSON'S LIFE. HIS STYLE OF WRITING MAKES YOU FEEL AS THOUGH YOUR A PART OF THE STORY. I LOOK FORWARD IN READING OTHER BOOKS BY BOICE TERREL ALLEN.

Summary: Could not put it down
Review: I had the pleasure of meeting the author of this book & I was telling him I will probably have this read in one night. I was absolutely right. The first page of this book captured me and I was unable to put it down. Each chapter I kept on reading wondering what was going to happen next. I love the fact that he focused on the bond between the sisters, teenage pregnancy and homosexuality. Instead of sugar coating everything and making it sound like some sort of fairy tale, Mr. Allen gave us a nice bittersweet novel. And THAT is what made this such an excellent read!

Summary: Allen has created an absolute winner.
Review: I must say that "The daughters of a Mother" is one of the best short novels I have read in years. I happened to stumble accross it a few days ago. The cover struck me as amazing. But so much more awaits for the reader inside. boice-Terrel Allen has somehow summed up so many of the problems of today's young adults. His scope is broad covering such issues as: family roles, teen pregnacy, homosexuality, and most of all...the love of two sisters. Even though this is a small novel covering many issues, Allen is able to give depth and insight not only to the main characters but also the challenges they face growing up. And finally a word of caution to the anyone that has the opportunity to read this novel: it is far from superficial. Be prepared to think quite a bit as your fingers turn each page with a mind of their own.
