Summary: Old Friends Reunite to Discover Some Things Never Change
Review: In Danielle Steel's "The Ranch", three close friends from college decide to reunite at a Dude Ranch in Wyoming after many years of separation. None of the friends have seen or spoken to one another in years, and although they used to be the best of friends when they were young, they quickly discover after reuniting in Wyoming that their lives have all taken very different paths. Mary Stuart is now a housewife, raising several children and working inside of her home. Tanya lives a much faster-paced life; she is a successful singer and actress, and Amy is a counselor at an AIDS clinic. Their new positions in life are just a few of the new things that these women learn about themselves and one another on this adventure, an adventure that ultimately proves to be one that they will never forget. While in Wyoming, the three women learn more than how to relax and take time away from their busy schedules and lives. During their time away dark secrets are exposed, as the women go beyond reminiscing about their pasts together and being able to discuss the current issues in their lives. While one woman is dealing with the tragedy of AIDS and how it has affected her life, another is surviving her son's suicide, and a third is struggling with the difficulty and scrutiny that comes with being a famous performer. Through it all, the three women learn that although their personal problems and concerns may be different, they can all still relate to one another on the same level that they could when they were young. Although everything has changed in their personal lives, the relationships between the three women remain the same. They are all still great friends and discover that they still have very much in common, although on the surface they may appear to lead very different lives. The Ranch was a great book that I would recommend to almost anyone just looking for a romantic novel to read when given some free time.

Summary: Danielle Steel needs editors who work
Review: In The Ranch, Danielle Steel again proves that she can somehow get away with selling millions of copies when her grammar is horrendous. Please, Danielle Steel's editors, don't assume that we are stupid - either edit her books or enroll her in a community college course in basic English Grammar. Thank you.

Summary: Good
Review: It was a realy good book i think but it could end differently. Stu should marry the authour and we should hear more about Zoe.

Summary: No thank you....
Review: Ms. Steel is attempting to change scenery or plotlines or something here--it just does not work compared to some of her other works. Granted, such a prolific authoress has her ups and downs, but her see-saw seems to be stuck on the ground.

In "The Ranch" we meet Mary, Tanya, and Zoe. Lifetime friends who reunite at a dude ranch in Colorado. It is here they reveal secrets, make amends and share their lives and loves.

Not a bad book, just not a good one.

other reading suggestions" "The Ghost" by Danielle Steel and "Grand Passion" by Jayne Krentz

Summary: Poor Grammar. Whinny rich Girls
Review: Poor grammar. Cannot take the cry babies of the rich girls; as if they have any problems to cry about in their lives. As a working girl I cannot stand rich girls/women feeling sorry for themselves, when they have no problems as do the poor working girls.

Summary: CHILDISH, BORING, TRITE, UNINSPIRING (NEED I SAY MORE!)
Review: The Ranch has to be the worst of the worst of Danielle Steel. Does she actually get paid for these plots and vapid characters? PLEASE, how about some life-like individuals with feeling. This tale could have been conceived with more aplomb by a ten year old. No wonder Todd committed suicide; his mother was a Stepford wife! It's my own fault. I promised myself years ago to NEVER BUY ANOTHER DANIELLE STEEL. I thought that Ms. Steele may have matured as many authors do, however, she has regressed. Her first novels contained more thoughtful planning and character development. "Show her the money" and we did; we purchased her book. Shame on us!!!

Summary: My New Favorite
Review: The Ranch is my new favorite book. I believe that it is Steel's best work yet. It made me cry for my best friend, who lives four hours away. I called her to tell her to read the book and found out that she'd bought it the day after I had! If anyone knows of a book that is similar, especially about friendship between women, please email me.
