Rating: Summary: It was GREAT!!! Review: Danielle Steel is truly a gifted writer. In her new book she deals with some subjects that it hit home for many people. They include AIDS, suicide, and the price stars must pay to be successful. Steel excels in making you feel that you are right there with the characters, sharing their good times and bad. "The Ranch" is a must read for any fan of Danielle Steel or any one that wants to start reading her
Rating: Summary: much better than her usual Review: Have read quite a few DS books, and I thought this was probably the best. The previous one I had read, "Wings," had the corniest dialogue ever. (Am I the only one thinking that Danielle quit writing these books years ago??)The singer/cowboy romance was a little unbelievable, but I didn't take that too seriously.
Rating: Summary: Not as exciting as some of her others. Review: I am a big fan of Danielle Steel and have read all of her books. I was disappointed in "The Ranch". I enjoy a book that is so interest- ing that I can't put it down, but "The Ranch" was not that kind of book. I think there was too much time spent on Tanya and the cowboy, whereas the other two lives had more exciting storylines and I would like to have read more about their storelines. I think Ms. Steel went into depth too often about the dangers of Tanya being in the public.
Keep grinding out those books, Ms. Steel! I do look forward to each one.
Very sincerely,
Jan Machnovitz, Cincinnati, Ohio
Rating: Summary: Where did Ms. Steel go to school? Review: I am very disappointed in the grammar used by Ms. Steel. At least half of the sentences in the book beging with "But" or "And", and the grammar throughout the book is attrocious. It is an insult to an educated reader. The story line was very predictable and she repeats herself over and over as if you didn't get it the first time you read it. I felt as though this were remedial reading. I sure don't understand why "America Reads Danielle Steel"! I won't be wasting my time again.
Rating: Summary: WHEN WILL WE GET THE SEQUEL(S)? Review: I could smell the mtn air, and feel the chafe of the ride! This story was more like the DS we once knew and loved. I have a new enlightenment on AIDS. For the first time I want to know 'the rest of the story'. Please, Ms. Steel,
bring us another (maybe 4)!! EVERY character has important unfinished business. (One small point, lose the editor. Several errors missed throughout.

Rating: Summary: As usual, I hated to see it end. Review: I have been reading the works of Danielle Steel for many years, beginning with The Promise, and the rarely mentioned Going Home. I am happy to say that the latest books, to include The Ranch, hold me captive, much the same way the earlier works do. She has an understanding of people as human beings that comes through time and again. To borrow a line from an earlier book of hers..If Danielle stops writing, I'll stop reading. Thanks so much for the years of entertainment.
Rating: Summary: This was a great book to listen to while commuting to work! Review: I listened to The Ranch for 2 weeks while commuting to and from work. There were times when I just wanted to keep on driving! As others have said, it did repeat itself in parts, but I really enjoyed my time with this book. I would like to read a sequel because there is more to say about these women. I don't read many romances anymore, but this was an exceptional book and really kept me interested.
