Rating: Summary: Disappointing Steel Review: A book that is filled with cliches. In the last few books, it has seemed to me that Ms. Steel is just trying to crank them out as fast as she can to make more money. It was so predictable that even I could have written it. The ending was somewhat a surprise but follows what normally happens, happy endings for everyone
Rating: Summary: the Ranch was the 2nd Steel book I've ever read... Review: And while it was good, it wasn't really what I expected. I disagree with the other reader's who say that this book is unrealistic, because it is. It doesn't sugar coat the AIDs virus, or what really happens to Hollywood stars, but... it wasn't her best. At times it was very slow moving, and the plot seemed to repeat itself over and over. Stu thinks she's in love with the writer... blah, blah, blah. Tanya makes love to the rancher and realizes she's crazy about him, and wants him.... blah, blah, blah. It wasn't one of her best.
Rating: Summary: The Ranch Review: Another easy-to-read and enjoyable book by Danielle Steel... Three women who were college roommates: Zoe, Tanya and Mary Stuart get-together on a dude ranch in Wyoming to reunite after many years. Now middle aged, they come from different parts of the country with different career paths. Zoe is a physician who works with Aids patients. Tanya is a famous country singer and Mary Stuart is married to an attorney. Once they get over the old conflicts that occurred in college, they become fast friends again. They discover that they share similar painful experiences and it brings them closer together on a new level of friendship. The story tells of their new romances and adventures together on the ranch and it has a happy ending with a twist...
Rating: Summary: Predictable Review: Are you dying of a terrible disease? Are you thinking about leaving your husband? Are you being sued? Then don't worry. All you need to do is visit Wyoming for 2 weeks & you're guaranteed to find true love within 3 days (give or take a day). There are three heriones in this story, all in their forties, and according to the author (who tells us every few minutes), they're "gorgeous," "sexy," "sensational," "lovely,""stunning," and haven't changed since college 20 years earlier. It got distracting hearing about what these Vogue models were wearing. Reminded me of how a Nancy Drew book is written.
Rating: Summary: Deceivment Review: As a frequent reader, I had been trying to find a good author for the category of romance and fiction for quite a while. Several constant readers always recommended me Danielle Steel, but I had never gotten the chance to read her work. One day, not so long ago, I though, well, she is a best-Seller author, with books that appear constantly in the "New York Times Bestseller List", even 3 at a time, so I decided to buy this book "The Ranch". Well, my dear fellow readers, in my real humble opinion, this particular title "The Ranch" is a complete deceivment, very low quality fiction, and "out of the reality" romance. The book is sort of a history of three women that, after being very close friends in college, decide, now that they are in their forty's, for whatever reason, to meet twenty years after in a "Ranch", located in Wyoming, for a one to two week vacation. Believe it or not the 3 of them, solve their not so simple problems (including AIDS, the suicide of a son,and the agitated lifestyle os a "Star",and, other unbielevable things) in this vacation. First of all, the personality traits of each of the 3 most important characters are incredible and unbelievable for humans. The guideline or what happens to them very "out of sense and reality", and, the worst off all, it was so predictable that I believed as a reader that I had been fooled, and I had lost time and money. For God's sake, there are so many god books to choose from, that buying this one is a mistake, believe me... Well, maybe in her long list of bestseller books, she must have got a good one. I doubt it. If you happen to know about a good title, please, let me know.
Rating: Summary: oh good lord Review: At times, I was actually embarrassed to be reading this book. But I got it at a used book sale for $1, and I think I got my money's worth! Yes, Ms. Steel needs a better editor for her commas and run on sentences and mindless repetition. And by the way, I had to check 5 times to see what year this book was written. Pink jeans? Turquoise boots? In 1997?

Rating: Summary: Excellent novel! Review: Contrary to what others may have said about this book, I really enjoyed reading it. This is the first Danielle Steel book I have ever read, therefore being the basis of any opinion I have on her. Needless to say, I will be reading many more of her novels in the future! If you love books that tug on your heartstrings, this is the book for you!

Rating: Summary: Disappointed Fan Review: Danielle Steel has always been, and still remains, one of my favorite authors. However, I really hated this book. There was more clothing description than anything. Really a let down.
