Rating: Summary: Good, But Okay Ending Review: I just finished reading this book, and I liked it. The only thing that kept me from a five is the ending. How could she go back to that scum? I liked Brock, although sometimes he was childish, and the scenes about cancer were very realistic and encouraging.
Rating: Summary: Disappointing Review: I read this book in one weekend, once I started I couldn't put it down (that's why I'm giving it three stars). But when I got my first glimpse of how the story was going to end, I almost didn't finish it. What a disappointment! I could understand Alex eventually forgiving Sam, but please! If my husband refused to support me if I went through something like that, it would be a pretty hard thing to get over. I believe that most marriages begin with the bride and groom saying something to the effect of "for better or for worse!?" I felt that the ending of this book was a bit of an insult to couples who really actually believe that (there are still plenty of us out there, believe me!) What a waste of a good weekend!
Rating: Summary: Good book with good plot but disappointing ending. Review: I really enjoyed reading this nearly 400-page book. It took me two days to read all of it, but I think that it was well worth my time. This book was very sad and emotional for me to read, but I really felt for Alex Parker, the protagonist in this story. Her mean husband, Sam, goes on a high-fledged affair with lots of intimate "doing-it" when his wife is suffering from chemotherapy/mastectomy. I hated the ending, Sam should have gone to prison instead of probation, and I think she should have went & married Brock, who was no doubt my favorite character here. Brock was the nice one, caring for Alex while she was sick, but in the end, Alex went back to that no good cheating lunatic Sam, while she left Brock to go back to Illinois. Bad ending.
Rating: Summary: It's Great! The Bad Guy Gets the Girl! Review: I really liked the ending to this one. The jerk (who also happens to be the heroine's husband) reunites with her and the two live happily ever after. The good guy who has supported the heroine throughout the terrible ordeal of her illness gets dumped on. Most, if not all, of Ms Steel's lead male characters tend to have three dominant traits. One, they're at the top of their profession; two, they're great physical lovers; three, they're so wimpy and whiney that they're apt to cry if the waiter delivers the salad with the wrong dressing. In other words, the lead male has the emotional makeup of a 14 year old. Usually, Ms Steel arranges it so the wimp gets the girl. It was fantastic when Alex dumped on Brock at the end.
Rating: Summary: Danielle Steel's best book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: I thoroughly enjoyed the book, could not put it down. Ms. Steel wrote wonderfully on the subject of cancer, and everything that happens to a person when he/she is hit with cancer. How our life changes and those around you as well. You find friends that you thought you could never count on and then there are those friends or family members that had always been with you,all of the sudden are scared to face reality
Rating: Summary: good book, very emotional Review: I thought it was a good book. It was interesting to hear about what it's like for someone to go though having breast cancer and how their family deals with it.
Rating: Summary: Great Story didn't really like ending Review: I thought the book was great the only problem was The end of the story. I thought she had great courage and strengh to come out of all she had been threw. I don't know if I would have had the same strengh that she did. I really enjoy all of Danille Steel's books they are always can't put Down.
Rating: Summary: A good book but.... Review: I thought this book had a great deal of realism but I hated how her husband deserted her. Most of the men in her books have self-pity and then go do something stupid. It doesn't matter how many people in your family have had cancer and how it scares you but you must put your self pity aside and help the person. Maybe if you did you might not have another loss but this guy got scared and ran off like a self obsorbed sissy to go get a young tramp that he "Fell in love with." I think that is pathetic but it does give the story a good twist but it really irks me how he acts in his book and she isn't much better. She moves on pretty quick too. It was a really good book too and had alot of realism of how people act in certain positions in life.
